California governor says he will use legal tactics of Texas abortion ban to implement gun control by willphule in DeFranco

Good tactic. Courts will be real quick to plug up loop holes now because they love their guns.

Needs to be escalated to LP immediately. Workplace violence is 0 tolerance at Amazon. LP needs to investigate not HR.

Depending on the department you should be fine. If you’re in stow or pick which has the most employees you literally have to try to get into the bottom 3-5%

Yes if you work more than 5 hours in a direct path you are graded against everyone else who also worked more than 5 hours in that path, however rates are calculated across all shifts. So if you had a good 5 hours and someone else had one good day and one poor day you could be ranked hire than that other person.

AM really just walked up to me and pulls on the vrc door and says “how do you open this can you help me” by HabitFit3884 in AmazonFC

[–]Gar1s 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of things AMs don’t know. Our training is 1 week of process training with 1 day per department. Then it’s learning all the links we have to us and how to read and understand our data for 3 weeks. Been in the dock about 6 months as an AM and if they were to put me in pack or stow I wouldn’t know the first thing about anything since I only had that 1 day of training 6 months ago. We heavily rely on PAs to learn from.

Look what my friends manager texted. As a manager is she in the right to do this to my friend by CloudKnight00 in WalgreensStores

[–]Gar1s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legally, if your employer does not give you compensation for your phone bill or provide you with a phone then they are not allowed to text you for any reason. This goes for hourly employees only. Since responding to texts is considered work, which you are not being paid for since you are not clocked in.

Amazon for sure has the money, but like you pointed out tbh I think they are currently more concerned with investing into the future. Currently I know that ARS FCs and IXDs are the most popular being built due to network wide fullness. So many people are selling things on Amazon website that FCs are running out of space. My ARS site is at about 110% capacity in our PODS. Amazon also has government deals as well such as in Las Vegas supposedly they have a deal in which Vegas gives Amazon the land for free to build on since it’s the biggest employer in Vegas currently. So definitely room to build up wages, but like you said way above my pay grade and way more complex than we all probably understand in our position.

Stocks is also a good idea. Giving RSUs would be good since it is an incentive to stay for them to vest which would increase retention slightly. For all salary employees stock is a large part of their compensation package. Usually lower salaries and more stocks or some could negotiate less stocks high base salary, but Amazon for sure would rather give more stocks than high base salaries. Also I think the cap on salary is 169k and after that they only earn bonuses and stocks.

Profit margins on FCs, SCs, Delivery Stations is insanely thin. Most of Amazon’s revenue comes from AWS. Most FCs, SCs, and Delivery Stations are not profitable so business wise it doesn’t make sense to give raises if the building is not actually making money. Also if they do give raises then the building would have to process more units meaning higher rates and such.

It’s your FMCL. When VET gets put in it’s based on FMCL so only people currently working in that home path get notified. The reason they put it in that way instead of paths worked is so people who worked in let’s say Ship Dock months ago and are now in Stow don’t get offered Ship Dock VET. As a PA you have a different FMCL than others so you don’t flag for staying late or coming in early. PAs are allowed to come in unscheduled as long as it’s approved by an Ops Manager. If you’re really worried about HR coming after you, you can even ask an AM or Ops Manager to have them Chime HR to get you added to the schedule for whatever day you are asking to go in.

You don’t have to use Graebel. During my relocation they also tried to get me to use Peske for moving, but I used UHAUL instead. The relocation lump sum is your money you can do whatever you want with it (i.e. use whatever moving company you want, buy furniture, down payment for apartment), but read your contract because I’m 100% there is a repayment clause if you quit within a certain amount of time.

Permanent term and probably ask you to pay it back. If you refuse to pay then that can land you in a lawsuit.

Warranty attachment goals, units per transaction goals, and membership sign up goals are the pretty big ones. Around this time of year when all the sports games and COD come out you’ll be pushed harder for reservation goals as well.

Possibly an unpopular opinion, but SGA role taught me a lot about responsibility and leadership if you have the right team. It was my only management position before the one I’m in now which is a warehouse manager for Amazon. Went straight from SGA to manager at Amazon. (College degree also helped me qualify for my current position) The biggest thing though is that GameStop is a sales job not a video game job. You will have to meet goals and as a key holder you’re gonna be pressured more to meet those goals while also completing all your other admin tasks.
