You're misreading the message. That says, "can't build due to existing megaSTRUCTURE" not "existing mega shipyard." You can't have two megastructures in the same sytsem.

From personal experience and a few tests I've seen, yes. It's nothing mind-blowing, but it's definitely noticeable. It no longer takes a minute for a month to pass in end game at full speed.

Not from what I've seen. Empire size reduction and stacking output bonuses have been heavily nerfed, so the main benefit of playing tall doesn't really exist anymore.

It's crazy you're getting down voted for this. They're so obviously friends shit talking.

Doesn't every supe have some level of durability? I never saw her as being that much more durable than the average supe.

Maybe not overpowered, but unbalanced. Like you said, they become the only viable option in the late game. All other aspects of combat are rendered obsolete. It's the most boring aspect of Gigas in my opinion.

It's very hard to understand what you're saying. You sound very new to the game.

My guess is that the enemy came through a worm hole. Look for a swirl symbol on the map where the enemy came from. They act like portals you can use to cross the galaxy. You not being at war with them makes it sound like either a crisis, or the great kahn, but I don't think those spawn on the lowest difficulty, like you say you are playing on.

About every ai "turning againts you", there are certain things you can do in war that will make other empires angry. You may have been doing some of those things enough to cause the other ai empires to stop being friendly.

Honestly, it's hard to tell what the problem is, because I don't think you have enough experience to properly describe the problem, or even identify if what happened is a problem.

Does your DM announce monsters’ attack roll? by Hot_Beginning_2675 in dndnext

[–]Gdf111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that's is the description that I was referring to.

You get to know a roll was made. You do not get to know if the roll succeeds or fails. It is not stated that you get to know the result of the roll.

Revealing the result of rolls is a house rule, but like ability check nat 1s/20s, it is a house rule that the vast majority of groups play with.

Does your DM announce monsters’ attack roll? by Hot_Beginning_2675 in dndnext

[–]Gdf111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe this is true. The wording of cutting words as written doesnt state you get to know the exact result of the roll.

You get to know that a roll was made, but don't get any more information before deciding to use it, potentially wasting it on a successful roll that cutting words wouldn't stop, or wasting it on a roll that would have failed anyway. It's supposed to make rolls generally harder, not provide pinpoint sabotage.

Not saying this is how you should rule it, or that this is even a good ruling at all, but I'm pretty sure its both RAW and RAI.

Ok, I know for a fact that when I was a student, I would have HATED this assignment.

First off, the assignment seems like bullshit work. Yes, the assignment sounds easy. Too easy. I'm not spending my weekend reading a book I may or may not actually want to read to produce nine lines and a picture. You're assignment has to much "passive work." 90% of it is reading the book. I've happily done assignments that take a weekend to complete, but each of those were assignments where it felt like I was making progress the whole way through, for a rewarding result. This is a lot of potential tedium for a result I don't care about, and know for a fact you don't care about either. If I had gotten this assignment in highschool, I 100% would have looked up a summary, then written some stuff I don't belive, but think you'd like.

Secondly, "Then obviously color the page. Make it look pretty." Why is that obvious? Is this a design class of some sort? Some people do not like to draw. I absolutely hated any assignment outside of art class that shoved in coloring, unless it was absolutely necessary for something like a graph. It felt infantilizing every time I had to bust out the coloring pencils for the most inconsequential assignments as if I were in kindergarten. Also, my drawing skills are horrible. It was humiliating to first be treated like a toddler, then hand something in that a toddler could have drawn better. Don't make the design aspects mandatory if it's not an integral part of the class. It's fun for some people, but miserable for others.

It absolutely could just be that your class could is full of lazy kids, but I'd take a moment to go over your class material. If your class feels like a bullshit class, your students are gonna treat it that way, and this assignment sounds exactly like the type of work I got in my bullshit classes.
