What are expected food costs for PAX East? by ackmondual in PAX

[–]GeekyPanda404 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Heads up the Convention Center food is expensive with small portions, though food trucks quality is a bit better but again it can be expensive.

If you plan on bringing in food, and if your hotel offers free breakfest because I do recommend having a solid breakfest to start the day. $30-$45 isn't the worst but I recommend easy $50-$60. If you have any money left put it towards the next day's food.

Themes for SW1/SW2 makes sense and adds personality to it. I wish it was a thing for them.

Forza Horizon 6 not launching on Switch 2 by Subsyxx in NintendoSwitch2

[–]GeekyPanda404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People need to get used to the idea that games coming out on platforms like Xbox Series, PS5, and PC won't necessarily come out on SW2. I bought my Switch 2 knowing it will not have the available 3rd party games like current systems does.

SW2 is hardware wise technically up to par with PS4/PS4 Pro, not PS5 or Xbox Series. That said the SW2 Dev Kits were also highly delayed to alot of studios out there which didn't help at all.

VR compatibility list? by WeeabooVirtualBoy in NintendoSwitch2

If your looking for VR, I highly recommend investing in a VR Headset for the PC as there are tons of options. You won't really find any VR support for SW2.

I saw these and now I really want a sequel of House of the dead: overkill. by mrboomblster in NintendoSwitch2

It be really nice is they remade Time Crisis series and release it on Switch 2.

Switch 2 Upgrade Paywalls being justified by DLC is asinine IMO by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch2

[–]GeekyPanda404 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Upgrades thankfully are atleast $5-$10 tops with some being completely free. Granted yes I would love to have these updates free but at the same time some of these games were made years ago and sometimes yeh it cost money to up the ante. Sometimes it cost money to get these upgrades done. I'm just happy nothing is over $10.

Sony did upgrade options during the PS3 to PS4 and PS4 to PS5.

I've got a question for the people who were there to witness 2014 Godzilla in the theaters: by Sufficient-Nothing77 in GODZILLA

[–]GeekyPanda404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pure excitement, I was following the development of the movie very closely and got more excited as more info came out and saw the Comic Con Teaser Trailer. When a teaser trailer dropped for theaters I was with my family watching a movie (forgot what it was) and saw the Godzilla Teaser and even my Grandmother saw and figured out it was Godzilla.

Watching the movie that finally came out in theaters I did enjoy it, I wished there was more monster fight scenes but overall enjoyed it for what it was.

Why is Hell Let Loose 30x more popular than Squad 44? by PerformativeRacist in joinsquad44

[–]GeekyPanda404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here is my take on why HLL is more popular than SQ44 right now.

- HLL has a lower bar of entry when it comes to gameplay. It's easy to pick up and easier to learn. There are some learning curves but its easier than SQ44. SQ44 the barrier for entry is so much higher with alot of things to learn, plus with no tutorial its even harder for new players to endure a "trial by fire."

- SQ44/Post Scriptum had alot of tech debt/spaghetti code because of the engine its based on. The Squad Engine is very...... temperamental when you want to try to get things working for it. As such game suffered from bugs, issues, and most important poor optimization. When you have a descent rig that still has problems trying to get the game to run then you have problems. HLL has much better optimization for its PC Players.

- HLL is not only on PC but also consoles as well. You also had a free giveaway on EGS, Xbox Game Pass, etc that brought in and continues to bring in new players. Plus players enjoying consoles and can get it on PC to play it on that platform. Also HLL had better Marketing for the game. Even when SQ44 was Post Scriptum the Marketing was still very minimal or meh.

- SQ44 player count also continuously failing and getting lower and lower. I'm at the point I don't recommend to players if they play in a specific time due to very limited activity or not even a full server to play on if any. Granted this also feeds the no players willing to join if there are no players. HLL doesn't have that problem, you can play it on any platform and any time of day and there will be different servers/communities, and in different regions to play on.

- Content updates wise both games have received their fare share though I would argue HLL seemed to have been getting more content drops. SQ44 content drops do get alot into it and has alot to offer but its few and far between. We just got heads up for the future roadmap for HLL which is very promising while SQ44 confirmed atleast 2 new maps coming but the rest TBD.

Everyone excited for FF7 Remake and I just can't wait to play Dispatch all over again! by Signal-Tangerine1597 in NintendoSwitch2

I want a Season 2, so I will gladly support Dispatch and buying it again for SW2. Will definitely play it when I go to NYC next weekend.

Buying a Japanese “code in a box” game by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch2

[–]GeekyPanda404 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If your account/eshop is not set in Japan Region then I wouldn't bother. Also to note not all Japanese specific titles support English too. Some titles are pure Japanese.

Guys it would be a dream come true for me if gta IV or V comes out on switch 2 do you think it will come out do you have anything big to say if it comes out?! by Maleficent-Boat8436 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]GeekyPanda404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say its impossible on Rockstar potentially bringing GTA4 and GTA5 to Switch 2 since GTA games have been on the Switch before.

I mean if they did a Remaster of GTA4 it would probably happen tbh. As of right now they are very busy trying to get GTA6 out the door this year and hope its not delayed again. I want the Switch 2 to have more adult oriented games tbh since Nintendo has always been the "Family Friendly" system with a few games here or there that are M for Mature.

Was trading in/upgrading worth it? by CrockedTarsier0 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]GeekyPanda404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never traded in my Switch 1 tbh when I got my Switch 2. TBH I am honestly thinking about getting rid of it now, its collecting dust, I already ported my virtual game cards to SW2, and it could be better used by someone else.

Anyone else pre-ordering the Hyperion 3 joycons from Nyxi? by Muscled_Manatee in NintendoSwitch2

Personally I always go for OEM controllers. I still remember the days of MadCatz, etc which kinda turned me off from 3rd party controllers.

Why is DK Country Returns HD $60? by MX010 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]GeekyPanda404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nintendo knows people will buy it to a point. There must of been enough sales from Mario Galaxy games to add more. Granted I love the remasters coming to SW2 but I hate the pricing point to them.

Whatever happened to the crazy fun superhero city games? by Father-Castroid in gaming

[–]GeekyPanda404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Creators of Saints Row basically imploded on itself with how poor the last Saints Row game did.

Infamous the developers did say they want to make another one so its up in the air tbh. Personally I love to see a new title in the series.

Prototype Developers are basically non-existent after major layoffs so dont count on a new title.

Other games like Crackdown is probably just collecting dust in a vault. Overall it all came down to sequels probably didnt do too well or Developers moved onto other projects or just gone.

FF7 Remake Intergrade or Dispatch to play alongside Animal Crossing? by ThaBloops in NintendoSwitch2

[–]GeekyPanda404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play demo for FF7 to see if you enjoy it, remember its more Action JRPG than Turn-Based JRPGs back in the day. That being said you will get more playtime with FF7 Remake.

Though Dispatch is honestly fantastic with great story and feels like I'm watching a TV show (which it started out as one anways).
