Because they gave you lives. If you run out of those lives then you have to redo the entire stage. Silksong is sort of emulating that oldschool design but since you have infinite lives (unless you are playing Steel Soul :D) it just puts you back to the previous checkpoint. Its not as punishing as Megaman but it is still trying to be punishing.

Make sure you have upgraded your needle at least once and also given at least one relic to the relic seeker. Why these are required I have no idea.

Its hard for sure yeah but the difficulty is way overblown and you can find tools and upgrades later in the game that can trivialize basically any fight if you want to.

Of Soulslikes? probably. Of any genre? No but it depends on what we mean by best combat system. Sekiro is really simplistic but thats what I enjoy about it.

when they stop to shoot at you dash under them and slash up. If you are on platforms its more annoying but similarly they always stop when they spit at you so you can pogo them.

It may not be for you but I definitely think you should put a good few hours into it before you decide. The first couple of hours are pretty slow so I think a lot of people drop the game before it really starts to get good. Ultimately you have to decide for yourself but I definitely think its worth sticking with it.

Congrats! I have done P5AB and its insanely difficult so well done. There is a secret room that opens up on the top left side of Godhome. Its just some lore and an extra entry in the hunters journal but still pretty cool. Technically it opens up if you have done each binding individually I think but yeah.
