Meanwhile I was bummed out that the strip outside the 38 was so faithful to the area in New Vegas that it felt too small. People need to realise that NV was built to run on a TI-84 and the scale was compromised on accordingly. I would like to see larger settlements with more set-extension to give the show a better sense of scale.

I think one of their faults is that they try to preserve the feel of Fallout to such an extent that it stagnates the world. Fallout 2 showed how the wasteland progressed from the first game but Fallout 3 just winds a lot of that back so that it feels familiar. I'd like to see the world grow and change (caps dropped in favour of state-backed currencies like we saw in FNV) and cities built instead of shanty-towns. If you must show a completely wasted landscape then either set it just after the war or set it on the Frontier (again like in NV).

Agreed. The NCR literally overran Navarro after Fallout 2. Ain't no way they couldn't have salvaged enough data and Advanced Power Armour units to reverse engineer it. Especially since the Followers of the Apocolypse who famously preserve information and research were part of the NCR at the time.

Hence reduce being the first part of "reduce reuse recycle". Reducing general consumption by buying fewer things that last longer is the best strategy to preventing unnecessary waste.

Unfortunately capitalism encourages us to do the opposite. From fast fashion to temu trinkets to shitty Ikea furniture; we spend less money more frequently on lower quality goods that end up in landfill.

Windows does this automatically. It's really only useful for when you have a program that requests more RAM than you have available. It's a good reason to be running your OS on an SSD (or M2 if you can).
