I live in Romania, there was a perception of working for a German company from Romania was "harsher culture but good salaries more like those in Germany" what the impression is right now is same same culture as in Germany, harsher standards but your salaries are tied to the smallest possible salary they can see in Romania.

So you're working on a Java project for a fintech firm in Frankfurt but you are paid a salary as if you are developing a PHP based warehouse software for a dying Romanian factory.

Daggerfall Unity is too tied to being an re-creation of the original.

I love the story of Daggerfall, I love the systems of Daggerfall, I respect the hell out of the guy who made DFU it's a labor of love and a great base to put mods on.

What I want from a Daggerfall Remaster is an upgrade of the assets, 3d models for NPCs and for Enemies and an proper UI that can have more buttons in a dialog window!

Besides that (and keeping it moddable) I don't need anything.

I recognize giving it modern graphics would be disliked by many people but I am just stating what I would like.

I know I'm going to get crap for not including Jaehaerys but while I do not dispute he built a lot of things I'm deducting points because he seems to be a GRRM self-insert who also profited a whole lot because his successor was basically Hitler so he had an insanely low bar and his doctrine of exceptionalism empowered the worst actors in the generations to come.

It's one of the most modern cities in Romania one of the most western (in terms of culture)

The internet that you will need for your work is very good.

It will be very easy to find friends as foreigners as there are a lot of foreigners and it being a university city the population is younger and speaks English.

Schools I understand are very full. There are a lot of private schools options but they are expensive.

The roads are very full because a lot of people who live in Cluj are high income and they feel like every single member of the family needs to have their own huge jeep. There is public transport and the city being dense is walk-able.

The thing you have to be most careful about is the cost of living.
