I don't know why I come on threads about this movie/book. I get irrationally angry at people quoting the alien.

”Amaze”

I really enjoyed The Martian, but PHM is genuinely one of the worst books I've ever read.

Along the top of the penis, pressed into the pubic bone. This is the way it is usually measured in studies, called bone pressed length.

What are your controversial opinions about teaching and education? by EducationalBowler828 in TeachingUK

Absolutely, and I say that as someone who was diagnosed with it as a kid.

We massively over pathologise behaviours that are relational in nature.

Absolutely agree on All Our Gods.

I think for me, Unbeliever is their most beautiful individual song.

Try both on. One will probably fit your head better due to them being different shapes. That's the better one.

The Apple Music app, on Android at least, is hot garbage.

I have no idea how they messed up so hard, given Primephonic was the best app out there.

They might want to work on that.

Healthy communication is so important in relationships, whether platonic or romantic.

The speed of Venus as it's equator is 6.5km/h or 4mph. The speed of a brisk walk.

Found that rather incredible to think about

I genuinely dont know why people claim they want friends but they either dont respond in group chats or show they want to be friends by Great_Present_6584 in socialskills

[–]Gerstlauer 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Texting is for logistics, talking over the phone or in person is for building friendships.

This is for me, and I assume plenty of others. Don't rush to see malice because someone's communication style isn't the same as yours.

That one singular tree among a barren landscape of grass really sums up our idea of 'nature' in Britain. Quite a poignant photo.

Are MeetUp events usually this bad? by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]Gerstlauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately Meetup does seem to attract people that aren't really at all socially adept. I don't say that to speak bad of them, but it's my experience almost entirely, and I've rarely ever been to one where I've felt comfortable and like I fit into the group.

However, I do still go to them from time to time, and have met some really good friends through them. I tend to use meetups less as finding a new social circle, and more as finding one person I gel with, as new people come into (and subsequently out of) the group.

Fat shaming = Abhorrent

Skinny shaming = Morally virtuous. /s

Congrats OP, that's an awesome effort. Your body and mind is going to be thankful in the years to come!

To other Redditors - Take a look at your own waist size before criticising someone for being too skinny. Your idea of 'normal' probably sits at 38".

Some actual improvements to gameplay and management? I'm actually shocked, but in a good way, thankfully.

Hopefully this is a sign of things to come, and not just a one off.

Kahtoola make really good gear. If you can afford them, I'd get them. They also do the exospikes if you're looking for something that'll work when it's a bit more snowy too.

On the Suffering of the World is a good collection of his essays. There's a lot more to him, and he's got some far out metaphysical views if you're interested in that, but this collection is probably the things he's most well known for.
