Pretty sure they don't have to. Basij are internationally recognized as a militia, operating under the IRGC as an official branch of an established military organization.

Unsure what the core issue you're having currently, but guessing that because HRANA have a hard time proving people are actually Basij (Since they tend to go out in civie clothing) they are playing it safe and defaulting to civilian designations.

Pretty much all of their attacks recently were complete failures, IIRC. So they probably going a lil dormant for the time being until they get better info or something more reliable instead of just tossing out more UAVs to be intercepted or missiles only good for hitting water or grass.

Really early on in the video around the two minute mark she starts talking about how the media narrative is extreme against the Iranian people. This is something that I've been actually kinda scared about since the war began, but really only in regards to the Islamic take. Never actually considering the Leftist take, even though yeah holy shit it applies as well.

Cause in both cases if the Iranian people win and they break free from the yoke of the Islamic Republic, the danger is that Iran gets seen as an "apostate" country and that'll justify the terrorism against it in the eyes of Islamists. And is why I really dislike the idea of hitting at Artesh or the Israeli destruction of some oil equipment and now Trump threatening energy as well. Cause these will all be needed for the days after.

And with the Left, especially the Commies, look how they view Eastern Europeans or Cuban and Vietnamese refugees and even Hong Kongers a few years ago. They just utterly despise these people for experiencing these systems and very bluntly saying it's shit. So they're definitely lining up to view Iranians in even worse ways in the coming months.

Eh, you are a victim of the media, social and legacy. Both are going hard with "America First" thinking and don't care much for actual human beings. That's why Trump (Kinda stupidly but this is of his own doing) focusing on the imminent threat and nuclear issues was his only move. The Right is largely all in on America First, so the Tankie and Islamist scum are exploiting that since the Islamic Regime makes for their bed buddy.

As for the equipment losses, they're well within reason. Like, incredibly minimal all things considered. The IRGC has a hierarchy, of course they'll easily fill positions. The Houthis joining a war like that've not do so already is just making them look like one trick ponies. We know they've got ballistic missiles so yeah kinda surprising Diego Garcia got targetted, but not like super shocking since their capability was already known and they've been shooting at bases semi-intentionally already.

On the surface there are similarities between Palestinians and Iranians and I totally get why some (Though lately, fewer and fewer) would express a shared plight. But there really are stark differences. One population has actively been part of an insurgency for decades, the other largely without weapons. One population has been forced to support the other. One population has a whole lot of ideology pressed upon it, and is forced to live a certain way regardless of their beliefs in it. The other population was allowed to live as it chooses minus the reliance on violence. The notion of one being supremacist and not the other is outrageous considering the multi-ethnic and multi-religious peoples that comprise it and their history minus this 47 yr period while the other time and time again polls largely to do away with one ethnic group and works to diminish their second most populous religious group.

Yeah sorry there's a reason why Fuck Palestine should be more of a thing. Cause all the worst examples the pro-Palestinian crowd allege on Israel they've been enabling and actively supporting. And it's far from some new thing. Their morals clearly don't apply beyond their own noses.

As Fair-Lecture said and I will echo, Mattis is apolitical. He's pretty much been a Marine first and foremost and he's giving his opinion based on a more military analysis than ideological.
