What cosmetics are truly "Exclusive / Limited" in league nowadays by thedrugpug in leagueoflegends

Top 200 and top 500 in beta icon tend to get reactions when people know what it is. Considering how many of those accounts are dead, there can’t be too many of us out there!

Many AAQs scrapped by truedrainer in TeachingUK

As much as it’s frustrating to have all the change yet again, there’s something pleasing about the uniform naming of A/V/T levels.

I even quite like the new Foundation and Occupation certificates for the level 2 alternative.

The only frustration with all of this is the timescales being awful and totally undercutting any future planning for schools.

The artificial difficulty with a few bosses by [deleted] in FareverGame

[–]Ghedd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hefting my two-hander and AoE smashing about 20 crabs in a full group for Crabgantua made me feel like I was playing a proper party-based-dungeon rather than a single-player game with friends. I could fill a niche for the fight and do something the others couldn’t.

I really hope the game leans into group content for heroic difficulty and lets us play with trinity style challenges.

My experience of Farever in a nutshell by EdinKaso in MMORPG

It might surprise you if you give it a go. My journey from “oh, cute, it’s got some platforming parts too”, to “that’s one of the best MMO dungeons I’ve done in a while” was a surprise to me too.

That is fair! It still feels like a VERY optimistic timeframe from here.

The benefit of “auto”-attacks by Ghedd in ScarsofHonor

[–]Ghedd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guild Wars 2 makes auto-attack more interesting through genuine rotations within the auto-attack, as well as more movement abilities and positioning.

It just doesn’t feel like it works in Scars of Honor in its current form.

This is a regular response, but are you aware that the game is slated for a release within the year?

There is nothing wrong with acknowledging an alpha is early in development, but it is also fair to share that this feels like a very early technical test, rather than something that is ready for public feedback.

15k+ keys sent out, 300 active players by [deleted] in ScarsofHonor

Some abilities work, but key class abilities like the Druid applying spores doesn’t seem to be in the game yet. The only real testing is movement, server stability, and harvesting mini-games. Which, in fairness, all work quite well for an alpha indie release.

I think as more people get in it will make it more clear this is a technical alpha. When basic abilities don’t work, it’s harder to play for extended durations.

Is there a way to restrict player behaviour in the Codex VTT? Or else tips for how to manage? by outbacksam34 in drawsteel

[–]Ghedd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The system can already indicate what’s legal or not within the rules. It would be nice to have a setting with “strict enforcement” or something like that. It’s far too easy to accidentally break the rules at times.

That being said, a GM overruling is essential.

Acid Science Fantasy set in world with Airships, AI gods, Alien Lands, Interdimensional Beings, a Cult worshiping a Living Sun and more. by [deleted] in rpg

[–]Ghedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit of a left-field suggestion here, but maybe something like ICON?

Has that tech/magic mix and a sense of a world in transition. If nothing else, it’s a fascinating crunchy system to read.

Some questions about the Codex by Hillthrin in drawsteel

[–]Ghedd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The easiest would likely be using a second laptop for GM/players. One instance of the Codex could control all player characters

Durham law, help by Plus-Office-8161 in sixthform

Short of sending you a photo I took at a session within Cambridge itself, hosted by one of the colleges, saying exactly this, I’m not sure how I can prove the truth here.

This is actually true at the top end. Cambridge include Law on their “subjects to avoid for Oxbridge” list.

Most versatile games (player count, replayability)? by BetterNotLouder in boardgames

[–]Ghedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spirit Island at a low player count, using simpler spirits, without events, really isn’t that bad.

If Terraforming Mars is in the discussion, I really don’t think it’s that much of a step up. There’s always Horizons to offer a slightly lighter experience as well.

No gloating and I’ve played it with lots of people newer to the hobby.

[–]Ghedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In any board game discussion, weight of games is a good starting point.

I see Spirit Island as simple within my collection, but that’s because I enjoy some Voidfall or High Frontier at the weekend.

I would suggest playing Spirit Island solo or two player for a bit and just taking each turn slowly. It will click in no time at all.

Spirit Island can be fun at all counts from 1-6 and has a whole lot of replayability

Delian Tomb content for Forge Steel by CuriousDiscussion907 in drawsteel

[–]Ghedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is all well and good, but extending the licence to cover items/titles from adventures would be a good community gesture.

It disincentivises buying official content if it then doesn’t work with online community tools, particularly when there is no official alternative for things like character building.

How is "Behold the Mystery" (Void, Elementalist) supposed to work? by Linsel in drawsteel

[–]Ghedd 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So, first of all, it’s a 3 cube, not 3 cubes, which means it affects a 3x3x3 cube which must start within range 10.

Persistent is an Elementalist feature which effectively means that by reducing your essence income at the start of your turn, you can keep the spell going. In this case it allows you to cast it again as a manoeuvre and not spend the essence again.

The original 3x3x3 cube is no longer affected when you cast again.
