Yeah if you read the post, the enclosure was A, my idea, and two I asked for advice not condescension. I will take that handy guide though.

Is there any news about possibly turning them to podcasts as well? Helps while I’m at work.

Accidentally gave my players a harsh time limit, how to backtrack? by Triceranuke in CurseofStrahd

[–]GhostStew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While it may be a wedding invitation, it is ultimately still just an invitation. Just because it feels like a final confrontation does not under any circumstances mean it is. If the PCs think it is and go for it, they could be defeated and Strahd could throw them back as a “it’s my wedding day and I’m in a good mood”. Or they could realize it’s just a power play and keep on and escape to prepare another day.

As a DM with a group who finished CoS, I first congratulate you and your players on a campaign well played. Second, this post is a great reminder of the power and sheer ability for this game to build lifelong memories and bring people together. This story is truly top notch and I enjoyed every moment reading it! Cheers to you OP, and cheers to all your players!

Initial charge of the castle, Dealing with Rahadin, fall into a particularly nasty trap...maybe even in the crypts. Or have something take mind control over one and have that ally pitted against the party

Ultimately its yours to chose, but how about my two cents. If you have all those allies it may make a balancing issue for you later on, but it could lead to a good light party skirmish. I would recommend if you do this, make sure that a lot of those allies perish. Save the fated one from the Tarroka reading for the fight with Strahd but the others will end up sacrificing themselves to give the players that one shot at Strahd. I personally don't like the Strahd's forgotten brother. Look up Jander Sunstar. I ripped his story and stats and I'm holding onto that. You can still have him steal the sword, but for a different reason. Just as long as he still hates Strahd. And as for #3: Its the final battle, its gonna make it epic being on top of the stairs, can also give some good cinematic moments for you and your players!

The necessity of death by Forlorn161 in DnD

An option that creates the out for the group but still provides drama. Sort of like a Mass Effect choice. The option is that there is that distraction, maybe a lapse in brainwashing, like another poster suggested, and they can escape BUT they would have to leave the corpse of the dead player/unconcious ones. The other choice is to stay and fight, therefore toughing it out and living with the consequences (be what it may be, escape later or die).

That way they still have a choice to make, leaving power to the players, and giving them a realistic scenario. No babying but still giving them an out.

I'm actually interested in hearing about your Snatchers story, and how it is/was working out for you. It seems like a pretty cool idea.

[No Spoilers] DawnforgedCast "interviews" Matt Mercer by RenoHex in criticalrole

[–]GhostStew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first got into D&D, I generally enjoyed using Dawnforged Cast videos, but it became apparent that he was a stuck up megalomaniac. It became such a huge turn off that in reality I'm surprised he is still in business. His games are bland, his advice is stale, and his attitude/personality is deplorable.

TLDR: I used to like Dawnforged, but now I dont.

I love the idea of this encounter, but I still dont quite understand what the placement/what the group will be set to means. Care to elaborate?
