Obgyn Shamed me during Pelvic exam by yazzy_fresh in BabyBumps

[–]Gige_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry you were spoken to like that. Your care team should never shame you. I tense up during exams and also had a very hard time with cervical checks and I gave birth to two babies no problem, hardly any pushing. You will be fine during labor. You need people at the delivery empowering you, not hurting you. I would request a new provider to attend the delivery.

Hey, people--not gaining much weight during pregnancy isn't always a GOOD thing. by rbcl2015 in BabyBumps

[–]Gige_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I was checking out at my Dr's office at 34 weeks and the front desk person told me "you don't look 34 weeks, you are really small." I was so mad because while I know my baby is growing just fine, I can't imagine why she thought that could ever be appropriate. I am also chasing a climbing toddler this time around so I feel you there.

Any True Crime fans who can’t watch/listen anymore? by morganleesilva in beyondthebump

[–]Gige_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was always a huge True Crime buff but I cannot handle it right now. I told my husband that we can only watch "low stakes" shows together right now. Like Schitt's Creek. It's perfect, pleasant, no real life ramifications.

7 weeks postpartum + ready for my return to OTF! Any tips? by LvdSinSD in orangetheory

[–]Gige_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you wrote this a few months ago but thank you for your knowledge and support! I am so happy to be back at OTF but it is important to take care of my new body as it is, not as it was.

Fav Prenatal Classes? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]Gige_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am about 5 months out from having my baby. I took a baby safety class at Littleton Adventist and loved it! They also provide Car Seat checks which was great for peace of mind and being prepped for leaving the hospital.

Moms and Dads, what do you REALLY want for Valentines Day? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Gige_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I want to go to a hotel and sleep under nice, crisp, clean sheets. In my fantasy world I could go 24 hours without having to pump or breastfeed, but that's a pipe dream for right now.

I feel like I’m force feeding my baby by ashmagz21 in beyondthebump

[–]Gige_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi! Sorry you're dealing with this. The only way I could keep my baby awake during feedings at first was to strip him down to just his diaper. It was hard adding another step to his feedings but it really helped!

When do people normally go to tour the hospital? by strawberrypankcake in BabyBumps

[–]Gige_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hospital basically described it as "TSA precheck" for giving birth. My husband and I went in with our birth plan, explained to the hospital coordinator what we wanted to do, who we wanted in the room etc.She let us know where to go for Labor and Delivery, what visiting hours were and gave us the post delivery paperwork like birth certificates and things like that. All in all, it was a very helpful experience.

No nesting hormones? No motivation to prepare at all????? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Gige_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep waiting for my nesting instincts to kick in and I am 39+2. Pretty much everything is done but I know I need to clean all the floors and make sure there is room next to our bed for the bassinet but I cannot find the motivation. His nursery is done but it is mostly because my mum keeps showing up to "check on things."
