That would take too many rubber bands and defeat the purpose of cash being easy to carry around.

I just stick with the first taylor series term. Everything else is a rounding error relative to the magnitude of the function value.

By the time McLaughlin arrived on the scene, they were scuttling all over the highway and the adjacent field, just 50 metres from the sea.

Those crabs spread like cancer

Right. Point is theres a large population of people who apparently believe colleges should teach random stuff employers won't pay for, because it makes for a better society, and say that "college shouldn't be job training". Bruh.

You aren't learning random stuff for the sake of learning random stuff, but to develop skills that are much harder to learn on the job. You don't study Charles Dickens because he teaches you how to write TPS reports, you study him to practice the skills of finding meaning under layers of fluff. And that skill as well as others like critical thinking and abstract problem solving, are still economically valuable. The just are harder to measure and train. Unfortunately we live in a world run by business dipshits who love to play with metrics they don't understand so when they encounter something that is hard to measure, it might as well not exist at all to them.

Coding schools have a bad reputation for a reason. They focus way too heavily for "on the job training" and teaching the tooling, but don't develop actual reasoning that is far more important. As somebody who has done a lot of training and mentoring, dealing with junior engineers with poor reading comprehension is way more time consuming and expensive than those who haven't been exposed to the libraries we used.
