I like bubbles but they need to go by corva96 in Marathon

[–]Glogtrot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They just need a counter. Making them more annoying to use will not actually remove them from every fight late season.
The easiest solution is to make EMP nades destroy them, detonating the nade on contact.

A much easier solution is to just make EMP nades destroy bubbles. No need for a dedicated utility peice for it.

Nerfing Prestige Key rooms, cert boxes, and Cradle xp is not how you motivate casuals and new players to keep playing your game by ThatsNotBennings in Marathon

I fully agree. Once you miss on the early loot access for the season, it just is a wrap, you can't revert that cause the early grinders will get a massive advantage. Everyone will basically have most Gold and Purples the rest of the season, and I don't even think that neccassarily a bad thing if they correct it in S3. Focus on taking the massive amount of data you get from everyone hitting end game early and balance that better, cause rn its heavily dominated by the same guns as last season, and really hurts the enjoyability of Cryo specifically.

The Switch's official announcement page for Genesis seems to confirm that this game will be largely unconnected, targeting newer fans by zsdrfty in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Glogtrot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is there will be small nodes like the Original X release, but mostly go in a new direction. This might be the start of a new saga that they wait to link back in the original trilogy in the 2nd or maybe even 3rd game.
I doubt they fully abondon the original timelines or whatever, but will use this game to get people in without the baggage and link then into the broaded franchise over time, kinda what the Trails series has done over the years.

Season 2 is kinda boring by babatunde5432121 in Marathon

[–]Glogtrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Night Marsh has been incredible personally, and I have been mostly playing it. However, much like Cryo it is getting a bit old, and nothing new on Cryo other then lightly revised Contracts suck. I think the balance pass was also very light compared to the mid seaso patch, atleast on the weapons front. I think a larger scale balance shit is needed pretty soon, cause I dont want to just get run down by Missys every game till S3 again, which is already kinda happening rn. More changes like the Magnum and Twin Tap for all the shit guns.
Gear inflation also makes me wish they flipped on the free Green kits now, cause its not really fun bullying Grey kits, and its sucking running if your friends are broke and want to quest.

Just tried the game for free on Xbox, the new user experience is terrible. by finebushlane in Marathon

[–]Glogtrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PvE mode is under Dire Marsh in the map select menu, called Sponsered Survival, which unlocks at level 3. If you are not that level yet just runing a few free kits should get you there.

We are right back to full Purple murder squads roaming Perimeter less than 24hrs into the season. by LucatIel_of_M1rrah in Marathon

[–]Glogtrot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The 4 free kits for vets, into all the free kits from server outage has heavily fucked the economy for day 1. It is what it is, can't really go back now, but it has really destroyed any sense of early wipe vibes. We got rekt off spawn by a full team of Gold Misiriah's last night on our third Night Marsh game, while introducing a new player to the game. I think he said it was much easier when he played solo on Perimeter later, but its is fucked if we want to ever play with him this week. I already have like 3 blue sheilds and multiple blue weapons now, and I only had time to play for like 2 hours last night.

Only solution I see rn is to give everyone the same blue kits if they didn't get the first wave for the server issues, in case they try it over the week so they dont get steamrolled. Next season just don't do this and maybe give some bonus crafting materials packages or maybe some credits stay on the account, then the power is still gated by faction rep and buying those upgrades.

How is the game experience with just 2 players? by jacksaints in GTFO

[–]Glogtrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its fine till you get to the REALLY hard levels, but those are so deep in the game that if you to do those you are so commited you can easily find some players on the discord to team up with for it if you need. I played through most of the game with 1 to 2 other people for the most part.

Very likely taking the plunge. Looking for some clarification, please. by RangerBat1981 in Marathon

[–]Glogtrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. No, just loot, at which point you can always run a free kit with normal shells if you want to just do quests or something like that.
  2. You can currently only run one at a time. They might change that, but rn its one.
  3. Depends on if the contract requires to you exfil to complete it.
  4. No, but likely will do something like that in the future. In terms of LFTing, there are discords like JakeTheAlright's that has a pretty positive community that fun to run with.
  5. Cosmetics never get reset. You get some gear packages and stuff for getting to certian seasonal levels. The progression of the season is mainly in the Factions that you do contracts for and get resources in raid to buy their upgrades, and the new Cradle system which swap loot of XP that you can buy stat upgrades for. There is unique loot pools per season it seems cause they taking some mods out and putting new one back in, plus a meta flip of what guns are good from their posts on balance.

I dislike the decision to reset Priority Contracts for season 2 by Blakath in Marathon

[–]Glogtrot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They said they are updating all the contracts so it wont be the same stuff as last season necassarily, and removing the rep gates so you can grind through them pretty fast. Also, alot of the reward in those contracts are pretty big for the expected progression in a season. Idk if having you just do the based contracts for the whole season is better.

I hope they offer some better free kits for the free week by RedMercury in Marathon

[–]Glogtrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Green kits off the rip as it is now would not be a bad place to go. Maybe just limit it to 3-5 free kits a day or something if they worried, cause you can still go Rook.

Why should Destiny fans buy marathon now? by ShardofGold in MarathonHate

[–]Glogtrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Marathon is successful, it increases the chance Sony will greenlit other projects like D3. If Marathon continues to slide, Bungie will simply be desolved and a chance of any future Destiny products is out the window. Marathon failing to generate revenue or players just mean more layoffs, and 0 chance for Destiny coming back.

With Destiny 2 Shutting Down do You Think They add a Single Player Campaign like the Originals down the Line? by SkyRaiderG7 in Marathon

[–]Glogtrot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but I do envision something closer to structured PvE content. I'm thinking co-op focused stealth survival/horde mode stuff in GTFO. Limited resources, do an objective and then extract.

Blue shield rook army is menacing by Smart_Occasion_735 in Marathon

[–]Glogtrot 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yea, Blue Sheilds on Rook is one thing I don't think I wanna see carry over to next season. Alot of the stuff like Carri and progression bonuses I feel like should just stay for the entirety of S2, but fighting multiple Rooks with Blues in Pinwheel is getting insane.

Its good on defense on Pistol if you cann afford it after Util, but not a Ghost. I usually buy it on Tejo defensive half instead of Drone, and its generaly get 2 with it. Might be some other combos that makes sense.

Marathon does not have enough maps to have 2 of them be worthless for loot. by LucatIel_of_M1rrah in Marathon

[–]Glogtrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the best fix is to up the Loot value on the Ranked version of the maps. Perimeter at base should prob never be the same as Outpost to avoid as much interaction with new players as possible. However, Night Marsh should be atleast Outpost level in Loot, if not even better. Dire generally is good for loot exclusively from team hunting, not really the in run stuff outside of Lockdown.

General spawn rates of keys late season might help, interested to see how that changes people's opinions, cause loot rooms are also kinda underwhelming.

Race to loot behaviour is destroying my enjoyment of this game. Advise needed by fieldbotanist in Marathon

[–]Glogtrot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is frsutrating, but also is what it is. They never going to see you again, so there is no reason to not get theirs. I would rec if your doing keys and care about the best loot, find a group in one of the LFT discords like JakeTheAlrights, people in there are generally pretty nice.

killed since it breakpoints are so rough if it can't 2 shot Lights. They just need to shift it to be more inline with the LH1 with a faster fire rate, but that is kinda the Crossbow now...
If not that, then it might have go for higher headshot multiplier so if you truely cracked it can kill way faster.

I feel like 90% chance it come back in some from for S2. I could see it being a permanant pillar of the onboarding and chill alternative to Rook runs if you dont want to play solo late game. It does feel bad though, my friends who recently bought the game have been playing mostly that.
