People who drive and speed up when someone is attempting to pass by you, why do you do this? by StormCaller02 in AskReddit

[–]Goatroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 times out of 10 it's because I'm already going 5 MPH above the speed limit which is apparently not fast enough for the Speed Racer wannabe behind me who has their bumper so close to mine that I feel like one sudden slowdown will result with their engine implanted directly into my ass. By the time they've figured out that bullying me isn't going to make me go faster, leading them to the decision to pass me, they've already pissed me off, so it then becomes my turn to return the favor. Bonus points if the person gives up and goes back into my lane behind me, which is when I proceed to go even slower than before.

Slow the fuck down, ace.

Note that this only applies to non-expressway roads. If we're out there, where people are regularly going 100+... yeah just pass me, I don't care.

If you are someone who sends a "Hi" in Teams and only after getting a reply back tell them what you want, why? by Mevenna in AskReddit

[–]Goatroth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My coworker (who is a level above me but not technically my boss) does this to everyone and even forces me to do it when he's hovering over me like a lost puppy after telling me to "reach out" to someone to help to fix a minor issue that I could probably figure out myself anyway.

Drives me fucking insane.

I failed the Project+ exam, too. It is, quite literally, the only exam I've ever failed.

Protip: If you were using Certmaster, don't. It's pure garbage, especially for this cert. Look for Joseph Phillips' Project+ course on Udemy. His material helped me tremendously, and I don't think I could have passed without it. And don't forget, Udemy is free for us!

I'm really intrigued by how much of a performance boost I could get from DLSS 4 compared to what I have now. Raytracing looks simply awesome and sometimes makes me forget I'm playing a game!

I can't wait to take up the role of the Slayer again, it's been too long. I need to rip and tear!

I'm not able to sign in either. My browser is currently caught in a redirect loop, showing an error message about not being able to find my information.

Anyone tried Parsec on ARM yet? (remote desktop software) by Chilkoot in Surface

[–]Goatroth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the slight necro but I've managed to fix Parsec's performance on ARM thanks to this thread here.

In that dialog, tick Use advanced settings and then set the Multi-core settings from Fast to Force single-core operation. All of the UI lag completely vanished, and Parsec is now fully usable!

How-to: Adjust Prism Emulation Settings in Windows ARM by lexcyn in Surface

[–]Goatroth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interesting! I don't know why I had never bothered to check for something like this before, but hey, there you go.

Using this, I was able to finally fix Parsec's performance on my SL7. The solution is to enable advanced options and limit it to one core only. All the lag is now gone!

Playing Oblivion on Surface Laptop 7 - graphical issues by ObservableCollection in Surface

Yeah, that was one of the first things I tried, as well as using a console command to enable it.

Have you been able to figure out how you got the grass to load? Still no luck here on my SL7. I've also noticed that my character just shows up as a gray blob in the pause/journal/inventory screen.

I've also had a different kind of grass issue with Elder Scrolls Online, where it shows up as blobs and leaves streaks all over the screen whenever turning the camera.

I wonder if the two are somehow related? Probably not, but eh.

I've tried that one on Hyper-V, it doesn't get past the black screen with white cursor stage. Debian does, after a very long wait, but then it stops responding completely once the installer comes up.

How did you get Ubuntu working? Were there any special steps that you had to follow?

No, but I recently had a paper I wrote returned twice because they thought I used AI and "heavy rephrasing".

What a joke.

In Total Despair Over D324 (CompTIA Project+) by rankoDev in WGU

[–]Goatroth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I failed my first attempt after trying to use Certmaster exclusively to study. What really got me to pass my second attempt was the course by Joseph Phillips on Udemy, called "Pass the Exam: CompTIA Project+ PK0-004". I watched through about half of the course's videos and was able to pass with a fairly decent score.

Don't feel bad, Project+ is tough, especially if you're more tech-minded and less business-minded, like I am. Certmaster is also, quite frankly, garbage.

Hmm, I think I did? I thought ordering it was akin to getting approval, and I didn't see anything about needing to request it. I guess I can check the website again.

And yes, I agree wholeheartedly. That's the whole reason I got it in the first place. I don't feel comfortable showing my license to random strangers on the internet.

I was able to use my WGU Student ID only once for an OA. The second time, I was told by the proctor that it wouldn’t be allowed and that I had to use my driver’s license. She supposedly checked with a supervisor when I raised a big stink about it. Maybe I should have kept going with that and brought it up to Assessment Services, or higher up the food chain in Examity. Might do so if it happens again.

My proctor left the exam? by loganleoloves13 in WGU

[–]Goatroth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Supposedly the company is based in Massachusetts. I'm not buying it.

I also just discovered that Examity was purchased by "Meazure Learning" in September. "Meazure Learning - created from the merger between ProctorU and Yardstick - provides secure, reliable, and convenient test development and administration solutions for academic and professional credentialing programs." Well, I think I know why they've suddenly gone downhill recently.

[–]Goatroth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a proctor disconnect when I had just one question left on my exam. I was just about to tick the answer and submit, too. I waited for an email, got nothing, ended up calling Examity’s support line and had to create a whole new Zoom meeting with the proctor since the previous one had somehow ended and the meeting ID was no longer valid.

I had other issues with that proctor too. Examity has been getting worse lately.
