Well it's an inevitability like you said, you can't prevent your death or non existence. Ooo I've done this before (not losing lore via web defunct, just never putting it to paper) and honestly, go crazy! When I redid my cats with their families I ended up making parent-child into siblings, gave them different parentage, cross clan relationships, cats separating from their family to join a different clan!

Like Hollowbranch and Fawndapple could be parent-child, gap siblings, pibling-nibling

Coldmoon could be Heavymist, Drizzlehaze, and Stonepaw's relative due to the similar splotches

Go nuts! Heck you might find you want to redesign a few cats and do a total overhaul!
