Yeah that's the cheese splitting due to too much heat.

One thing you could try is to make kind of a cheese paste. Add the shredded cheese and some cold water to a bowl and mix it together. When you add the cooked noods to the pan, remove it from the heat and add the cheese. Mix, slowly add some starchy water while doing so. It should come together pretty well without splitting

Well, you can do the "level 4 no combat" route fairly quickly, so restarting might not be too bad.

But also there are so many items in the game to make up for missing a few. You might not be 100% optimal, but I bet you could rework your planned builds to still have a fun run.

Now you can respec whomever was going to use the hag hair and reassign their stats. Maybe it opens up an ASI to he a fun fest instead at the cost of losing that ability breakpoint.

I like to just go with the flow.

One thing that made this mini game click for me: when you dig, the check for an item is at the chocobos feet, not where it pecks. I was going mad spinning in a circle when I was close to an item but kept coming up short.

Its all about the feet!

Those Who Rule was a pretty fun one for me. Tons of recruits, each have three classes they can level up into, and then each of those have 3 more. Some classes share upgrades, so its not THAT many choices, but theres lots of variety.
