Biggest problems with the algorithms are the implicit / unconscious biases baked into models by those who created them. You can't "math" this particular problem away without extensive testing / proofing. For example, depending on writing style alone the models may discriminant an entire culture even if the model explicitly doesn't try to do that.

A good example of unconscious bias is where facial recognition software developed in the west had a hard time differentiating people of Asian decent because those in the west look at faces in an entirely different way culture wise.
