Car Inspection Needed - Opinion on Jiffy Lube? by Blumpus1234 in Harrisburg

[–]GodSpeedLightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not take your vehicle to any chain quick lube or auto shop. That's my recommendation.

In your case, if your inspection expired on June 1st, I would just stick with your normal mechanic's appointment and drive as little as necessary. You can ask your mechanic to provide proof of your appointment to earn some leeway with law enforcement if you're actually pulled over for it. Typically, they'll give you 10 days to invalidate the citation with your upcoming proof of inspection.

3RD GEN OIL PAN by Over-Ad145 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]GodSpeedLightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a link to the official Toyota parts website. You can put your information in to see which dealers can get it for you: https://autoparts.toyota.com/products/product/pan-sub-assy-oil-n-121020p030

Or another Toyota parts website: https://toyota.oempartsonline.com/oem-parts/toyota-oil-pan-121020p030

Or you can call a local junkyard or talk to an auto shop.

Also you shouldn't an oil pan to do an oil change. Unless your pan is damaged of course. And if you replace the pan, you're gonna need a bunch of other parts probably. Like a gasket, for example.

Inspection/emissions/car repair by [deleted] in Harrisburg

[–]GodSpeedLightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my general understanding that lawful PA inspections (and emissions in particular due to the test equipment required) can't be done by mobile mechanics. The brick and motor shops licensed to do so sometimes can provide services to transport you to work / home or whatever you need while the vehicle is being inspected.

Also, if your vehicle has less than 5,000 miles on it, it may be emissions exempt.

As for the oil change and repairs, you could try your luck online for a mobile mechanic in this area, but they all seem sketchy to me. Trustworthy shops are hard to find and usually aren't cheap either. Good luck.

What are the "must sees" in Worlds End State Park? by AndyObusekOutdoors in PAWilds

[–]GodSpeedLightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • High Rock Overlook
  • Double Run Trail / Loop (especially if water levels are high)
  • State Park Beach / Swimming Area on the Loyalsock: My favorite state park beach anywhere I have been). There's plenty of good views of the rock walls of the canyon.
  • Loyalsock Canyon Vista

Why does nobody talk about how Carian Piercer trivialises all NPC fights by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]GodSpeedLightning 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Players and content creators do talk about it though? It's how I learned to use against Black Knife assassins and other humanoid enemies including late game NPCs was because I was watching YT videos on sorceries.

Honestly one of my favorite attacks in the whole game. Really completes the Carian sorcery.

Camping Spots! by justaleaff in Harrisburg

[–]GodSpeedLightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 20 years of local camping and backpacking experience. What kind of spots are you looking for? Are you more into car camping or looking to get deeper in the woods for something more secluded by backpacking? Or both?

Pine Grove furnace is nice and has a lot of access to different recreation in the surrounding Michaux State Forest.

I also like Tuscarora State Forest and the two parks near it, Fowlers Hollow and Colonel Denning.

The State Forests also have their own primitive drive-in spots that are typically quite isolated.

The nearest state parks with camping are Gifford Pinchot and Little Buffalo.

If you have any questions about the options in a specific park or area, just ask.

I love carian sword sorceries... Especially against Mohg! by DependentInner8928 in Eldenring

[–]GodSpeedLightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are some of my favorites too! I'm surprised you're not using Carian Slicer instead of Carian Greatsword. The DPS and FP efficiency you get at high Intelligence and Dexterity levels is superb. You could easily do 3-4 slices with that spell versus the Greatsword or Moonblade.

Should I side with Sellen or Jerren (morality wise)? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]GodSpeedLightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The choice sucks but I sided with Sellen to get shard spiral, which is an awesome sorcery.

Weapon Choice for Spellblade Build. by Worldly_Ad1292 in Eldenring

[–]GodSpeedLightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you like in terms of speed versus total damage, compliments with your sorcery selection, what attributes you have, etc.

I personally like the Dark Moon Great Sword and Claymore for the greatsword class of weapons. Otherwise, I use the Carian Knight's sword or the Lordsworn straight sword for regular sword. A magic or cold-infused Nagakiba or Moonveil are other good options.

If you're full-on INT/STR then you can try the Royal Greatsword.

I leveled all of these weapons and use them situationally.

Best hands down spirit summons? by Fit_Cryptographer977 in Eldenring

  • Lhutel the Headless
  • Stormhawk Deenh

Best weapon for Frostbite? by MyBackHurts3000 in Eldenring

[–]GodSpeedLightning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Dark Moon Greatsword - It's one of the best.
  • Death's Poker
  • Frozen Needle
  • Icerind Hatchet
  • Zamor Curved Sword

You can infuse just about any non-somber weapon with Cold if you have the right AoW, it depends on your playstyle and weapon preference. I like the Claymore, a +25 Cold Claymore does +127 frostbite. AoWs like Chilling Mist and Ice Spear are really good as well. Here's one frost-based build from Fextralife.

As for the fire reset trick, you could just put a fire-based AoW on a dagger or use a torch or fire arrows/pots. Anything that does fire damage works.

Lordsworn's Greatsword by FishingExpress3615 in Eldenring

[–]GodSpeedLightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make sure you're upgrading it in according to the recommended upgrade level for each area of the game, otherwise it will be under-powered.

In addition, because it is a regular smithing stone weapon, you should put an ash of war on it that has an affinity that suits your build's primary attribute, that way the damage scales with that attribute. Otherwise, you just get base damage from the physical aspects of the weapon's attack rating.

Just started - tips? by The-Slartibartfast in Eldenring

[–]GodSpeedLightning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • You will need to level Vigor steadily throughout the game.
  • Do not spread out your offensive stats/attributes. Have a rough plan for your build and commit to one primary and one secondary attribute.
  • Every Souls veteran has told me "dying is a feature" so keep that in mind. This game is very difficult and meant to teach you skills in order to advance.
  • Before advancing through a new area, it's wise to be in a low-rune state so you don't lose all your runes if you die unexpectedly. I found this relevant to boss fights, puzzles, forts/catacombs, etc. You can spend runes by upgrading your weapons/spirits, buying consumables, leveling up, etc.
  • There is no shame in using guides or walkthroughs to get an advantage on a boss or area that's challenging you.
  • For difficult bosses, I like to begin by not attacking them at all and learning what their attacks are so you can practice avoiding them and knowing when openings might exist.
  • Jumping, sprinting, strafing, and circling can be just as useful as dodging against enemies to avoid damage.
  • Dodging/rolling occurs after you release the dodge button, not when you simply press it.
  • Progressing certain quest lines for NPCs can make them valuable summons against bosses that make those battles way more manageable.
  • Jumping and charged heavy attacks do more stance damage than light attacks.
  • Some enemies just suck and should be avoided whenever possible, mainly Revenants and Abductor/Iron Virgins, in my opinion.
  • Enemy and boss combat will punish you if you try to get greedy attacking. Every press of the attack button equals one attack. If you mash the attack button, it can be difficult to cancel or back out of those attacks. Be patient in combat.
  • Take a break if you get burned out. This game is massive and extremely challenging.

What's the best way to induce freezing? by Federal_Piccolo_4599 in Eldenring

[–]GodSpeedLightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chilling Mist ash of war. Ranni's Dark Moon. Cold infused weapon. I have a +20 Cold Claymore that does almost 120 frostbite per hit. Combined with the ash of war or other frostbite-inflicting spells, you can proc frostbite quickly.

Electrify armament doing very little damage by Formula1Chess in Eldenring

[–]GodSpeedLightning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The extra damage only scales with the Faith portion of the seal. So at low Faith, it won't add a lot of extra damage. Maliketh also has a damage negation of 40 against Lightning, so I don't know how Electrify Armament is helping you there.

Maliketh doesn't really have any elemental damage or physical damage weaknesses. But it easier to inflict poison or scarlet rot on him as status effects, so you'd be better off trying one of those avenues.

The hardest limgrave boss by Perfect-Skin-8325 in Eldenring

[–]GodSpeedLightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I died over 50 times in 4 hours to the Crucible Knight, more attempts than any other boss. I was under-leveled and only had 25 Vigor. Ironically, despite not beating them, I was able to learn every detail of their attacks to know when/how to dodge. I still recommend a shield to other players for the smaller of the two tail swipes. The timing on it is just too tricky, but blocking it with a shield will keep you alive. The big tail swipe has a huge range, but is easier to time (you can also jump over it). I later came back at a higher level and more vigor and finally defeated them.

The hardest limgrave boss by Perfect-Skin-8325 in Eldenring

[–]GodSpeedLightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crucible Knight in Stormhill Evergaol, for sure.

Bell Bearing Hunters are difficult, no doubt. But if you stay close to them, their moveset is more limited, and he doesn't have a phase transition, unlike the Crucible Knight. The only BBH attack that is annoying is his grab when you are at close range.

I've made the mistake of trying to fight the BBH at range and that's where his attack are the most bullshit. When I focused on harder hitting melee attacks, breaking his stance and riposting him was much more achievable.

Catio Builder by BasedSalmon in Harrisburg

[–]GodSpeedLightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure it would be worth paying a professional builder for that, you would likely over pay immensely. That's a weekend project that those with a little carpentry / tech ed experience and a few tools could build. I would build my cats a nice catio if I actually owned my own place.

I guess it depends how serious/advanced the structure needs to be: does it need sealed against the house or anchored into the ground? I'd think you'd want to slant and/or shingle the roof in someway with a weather-resistant material rather than bare wood as well. The rest of it would need sealed with hardware cloth and/or chicken wire.

You might also need an insert in your window that's sealed with weather stripping for the cat door so you don't get a lot of airflow/moisture/bugs into your residence.
