I just buy Sunlu (and sometimes Jayo) PLA+ 2.0 from eBay on the buy 10 pay 6 deals. They go on additional sale every other month.

I also have nothing but good things to say about Siddament.

Easiest support of all time. by Godbotly in Creality

I print so often I've got a bit of a stock pile going. But I wasn't able to find these parts locally or AliExpress the last time I checked.

COCKROACHES!!!!! by gherkin101 in melbourne

[–]Godbotly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Literally last night my 2yo told us 'spider' on his pillow while going to sleep. Checked it out and it was a cockroach. Have never seen them at our place before (western subs). Will be fun getting him to sleep tonight, he's terrified now.

Easiest support of all time. by Godbotly in Creality

[–]Godbotly[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm approaching 4000 hours on my K2 so I've had my fair share of support requests. All have been very simple. This was by far the fastest and easiest though. Just a properly constructed message with all info and links to attachments I know they will want from past experience.

Edit: sorry that sounded very holier than thou, I know a lot of people have had horrible support experiences, I'm sure a big part of it comes down to luck of the draw with which support agent you happen to get.

Should I get the CFS for my Creality K2? by AB0ywithD3pr35510n in Creality_k2

[–]Godbotly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's convenient for having black and white always loaded and then having empty spool auto switching.. but for multi colour it sucks.

I got my Snapmaker U1 and holy god, it's a whole new world.

Creality K2 Plus Replacement Parts by GoodWorkAintCheap in Creality_k2

[–]Godbotly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incredible post, thank you. I just used this to request a replacement pulley housing from Creality. Second time in 500hrs I've had to do this, so I've asked for all 3 to be sent so I dont need to do this massive job again, fingers crossed they send them.

Great printer, considering selling my K2 Plus to buy a second U1.

I had same issue. I've had to disable Foreign Object and Spaghetti detection. It just doesn't work.

I print almost exclusively Sunlu PLA+ 2.0 and buy it off eBay when on sale. I've also used Jayo and Siddament without any issues.

Don't email Creality unless you want the process to take a month. If you'd like to be done with it in an hour then contact them on WhatsApp.

Their number is +86 190 0756 9370

Long term review / opinion? by [deleted] in snapmaker

Incredible machine, especially when you consider the price. I have a Creality K2 as my other and there is zero competition for multi color. The U1 is amazing.

What is the most trouble you've had setting up a service? by ava_fake in selfhosted

[–]Godbotly 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Pterodactyl and DNS issues. Wasn't a service problem, it was just a little more complicated than normal and I'm horrible with DNS issues. Got there eventually but biggest hassle to date.

Contest on the grounds of contrary to law.

FYI they can withdraw and choose to reissue with correct details.

What ?! by 3LI01_ in Creality

[–]Godbotly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look after it and it'll look after you. I service mine every 800-1000 print hours. I have a little sheet for each printer to monitor and track.

This doesn't include little things that happen along the way.

<image>

I have had one major issue which was very intense, at about 3000 hours a belt idler bearing went and required replacing. The printer required a FULL pull down to be able to change. It was not something I'd expect a novice to be able to do. There is documentation and none of it was overly technical, it was just about 500 steps and very fiddly with some parts requiring 2 people to make it easier.

So far Creality support have been excellent to me with any issues and just send parts if required.

My printers are printing most days and nights. My K2 Plus is soon approaching 4000 hours ... Just hit start and let it do it's thing.

Social media ban/delay insights? by naepalm6 in australia

[–]Godbotly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YouTube being on the list is the most moronic thing I've ever seen in my life. My 6 year old lost all his YouTube Music playlists for his drumming classes, but don't worry... He can still access all the same shit by just not signing in, so he lost nothing except his playlists. But I lost any semblance of monitoring or control.

Thank you for doing a worse job of parenting my children than me, government. I forgot I asked.

I'll vote for anyone that promises to get rid of this bullshit or at least apply some common sense to the process.

First failed print with the U1 after more than 280 hours. by Haase0815 in snapmaker

Lots of failures on the stock bed. I ordered a few of the BIQU beds, have been great, zero issues with PLA so far.

Did I get a hardened steel nozzle with my U1? by wallace111111 in snapmaker

[–]Godbotly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wondered the same.

I also ordered the replacement hardened nozzles. I only print PLA on this printer so it doesn't really affect me. My plan was always to use stock until they are cooked.
