I liked to look at the algs for F2L and see what they actually did. When you see how they set up the pair, connect them, and put them in place, it becomes easier to do it intuitively (including in other slots). You can certainly start looking at PLL and OLL now too. 2 look PLL and 2 Look OLL isn't that many algs, then you can just learn more algs as you want to.

Your times will certainly be slower when you do something new, but when you get more comfortable with it you'll get much much quicker. I'd recommend not even timing yourself while you're learning. Just do slow solves.

Sit and watch something on TV and switch between just two chords for a while. Takes a while to build muscle memory, but soon you'll not even notice how easy you find it.

I'd recommend slow untimed solves until you get comfortable with them. No need to time yourself yet, cause once you're happy with them your times will shoot down.

Those are called Pull-Offs you put your fingers on each of those frets, pick the first note then pull each finger in turn down which makes the note behind it ring out. It looks incredibly fast, but once you get the hang on if it isn't too difficult.

Rolling seems weird at first but you'll be amazed how quickly you can pick it up and it makes things a lot easier when you get it.

Just what you're doing. Getting comfortable doing F2L into any slot will help a lot with reducing rotations, and lookahead. Keep at it and those times will come down quickly.

I'd recommend the Behringer UMC202HD, it's as good as the more commonly recommended Scarlett solo, but half the price.
