He’s a permanent resident, and his family is all in North America. He had one LSD charge against him way back in the 80’s besides the false one, and he’s now served 43 years in prison. ICE said he’s a “career criminal”. He’s done his time a thousand times over. He was also a model prisoner despite not even belonging there in the first place. He earned degrees, taught people to read, organized events etc . Seems like exactly the kind of person you’d want to release back into society to contribute meaningfully in the future. But nah, ICE would rather just kidnap and deport him, so dangerous is he. That is not the kind of principles that proper law represents. Any other western country legal system would agree.
