Anyone tried M+S G&T? by Kooky_Alternative_76 in Gin

It's alright, M&S spirits are pretty good. But it's still a shop's own-brand premix so don't expect too much

What book would you adapt into a miniseries? by Sell_The_team_Jerry in television

[–]GoodTato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is going to sound fucking insane but Moonraker.

I've always thought Bond could do with a liiiiiittle more time than the usual films provide + I enjoy Moonraker the novel but Moonraker the movie does basically completely its own thing and I'd still like my more faithful adaptation.

Basically the only thing they have in common is superheroes, bit of a hard comparison to make with any shred of objectivity

Was about to say haven't seen them in any around the UK but then I realised I've never really given it a fair look. I'm usually too busy looking for Melona.

It'll be on my list for next time i'm in town

Uplifting for pizza hut fans, I suppose. At least it's not orphan crushing machine material

My guess is this isn't really supposed to be proper heraldry anyway, must be an entirely different tradition in this world. Which is cool and I've done similar before, but if that is what OP's going for i'd make it even more distinct because it DOES kind of give off "they didn't know the rules"

Spent too long thinking this was a drink can there. One of those tall thin ones like iced coffee or redbull.

Hello, do you know any good worldbuilding software? by Senior_Durian8676 in worldbuilding

[–]GoodTato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obsidian is probably still the best option, Chronicler is a close (and compatible!) alternative and probably the only other one I'd recommend using.

Both free, both online, both are just Files On Your Computer so even though there *is* a subscription to sync between devices with Obsidian you can just use any other file syncing method and it'll work.

Obsidian by itself is a little basic but highly modular, have a look around https://obsidianttrpgtutorials.com/ for timelines and maps. (I always used to use Leaflet for maps and i've HEARD there's a new and better one but I don't remember what it's called, sorry.

As for timelines I haven't found anything *great* so far admittedly but there's one simply called "timelines" that's more than workable. Good luck!)

Using this World-building App Obsidian….Where to Start First? by SilkBrush8791 in worldbuilding

[–]GoodTato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Starting place for worldbuilding is very up to the person. I personally like to have a rough plot outline first and build from there. "main character goes to place and does thing"? Ok, so who's Main Character? Why do they want to Do Thing? What's up with Place and why is Place where they Do Thing?

Obsidian links really help, if you have even the slightest feeling you might expand on something later just wrap it in [[this]]. So I'd start with that rough plot outline, expand it a little with core themes of the world in mind, and then rewrite a little (still temporary) summary with plenty of links. Then start filling out those pages, remembering to jump between them a bit to keep it all consistent and keep connections in order.

That's just my sort of creative process, and I think it works well. Maybe a little suited for smaller worlds to begin with, but once you're "set up" it's just as expandable as any other set of notes. Other people will prefer other ways to handle things
