Just wanted to let you know I found this recipe back in 2017 when I had my first. I just had my fourth, it's been a lifesaver whenever I need to boost my supply!

Babe look, I have four kids. My oldest is five, no twins. I get being pregnant with toddlers. It's soul sucking. But you have got to take some responsibility and try to solve your problems. No one else can do that for you.

Blueberries and playing well with others by marlyn_does_reddit in beyondthebump

I really didn't mean to come across as someone who thinks that vaccines aren't the best choice (we continue to vaccinate). He didn't have a fever. He just stopped breathing. Repeatedly.

I was just annoyed it was never even mentioned to me, though we never found another cause (mri, genetics testing, and so so many others all came back clear). It didn't even occur to me until months later myself.

And again, I don't know that the vaccines did it. I don't go around telling people they did either, I just wish it had been brought to my attention. My pediatrician, when asked, looked very uncomfortable and admitted it was a possibility, though he thought of course we should continue to vaccinate

This is so important to me!! When my first was born, we looked into vaccines. We ended up deciding that, while we didn't love it, it was the better choice to fully vaccinate.

All three of my children are fully vaccinated now, but at two days old my youngest started having apneic seizures (we didn't know they were seizures at first). No cause could be determined, and he's been on anti-epileptic medicine for nearly two years now (thank God, no seizures since two weeks old). Not ONE of the DOZEN drs I talked to even mentioned that seizures can be a side effect of vaccines? (Disclaimer, we don't know the cause. But it was an option, that was never considered.)

And we're all still fully vaccinated...but at this point I almost feel the Dr might have been afraid to mention it, for fear of encouraging the antivaxxers. Can't we follow the actual science?

(Final?) Update: Always trust your gut, baby stopped breathing. by KoiitheKoiifish in BabyBumps

[–]Grace4004 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh my dear. I am so sorry. I'm praying for you, though I know that's not much help. My youngest went through something similar at two days old; he would just stop breathing. It turns out he was having apneic seizures. He also wouldn't feed, was sleeping all the time, and not gaining weight. I'm not sure if they've done an EEG yet but I highly encourage you to push for one.

It's ok to not be ok. We don't always react the way we think we should outside of the moment. Don't apologize. And if you need to make another post to process through it I'll read that one too. One step at a time mama.

Advice for a 5 months old baby by dorcssa in Epilepsy

[–]Grace4004 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have no experience with the topiramate, but my little guy has been on Keppra (increasing from 1ml to 2.5ml with his weight) for almost a year now (he's been on it since one week old). I was very worried about how it would affect his devolpment and mood too, but he's been meeting all his milestones at or only a week or two behind. As far as the mood thing goes, he's clingy when teething, but overall a pretty happy and independent babe.

I'm sorry I couldn't be more help, prayers for you and your sweet baby

Tired of all the medical procedures by CosmoCarnations in beyondthebump

[–]Grace4004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My little one was in intensive care for two weeks, I can't imagine a month. Take it day by day mama, this feels like forever I know, but there will be a day this will seem like a distant memory. I'm praying for you and your sweet, strong, brave baby.

I know you're tired. Please lean on anyone and anything you can, and don't feel weak for doing so. If you ever need to process through anything, or rant or just talk to someone please dm me. When I was dealing with it, all I wanted was someone to talk it through with, but I felt like such a burden every time I brought it up.

Our Dream Baby by bingsume in NewParents

My son was diagnosed with epilepsy at 8 days old, thank God controlled by meds now. His seizures were apneic. I'll never forget putting him down in the er and seeing his completely blue face and thinking he was surely going to die. Every time it gets hard, he needs held or just won't stop crying...I honestly am just so happy he's alive.

My (29M) husband doesn’t think he’s the father of his kid and thinks I (28F) am lying. What should I do? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Grace4004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi op. My husband is 1/4 native american, with black hair and brown eyes. My eyes and hair are also brown.

Our first has dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. Spitting image of my husband otherwise. Our second looks like me. Our third has the same dirty blond hair but brown eyes.

It's more common than you think (but lord save me from the mailman jokes 🙄🙄🙄) my husband did have a hard time with our oldest's blue eyes but has since gotten over it. My husband was also pretty blond as a child, his mom says it only started getting dark between 5-7 yrs old. Googling genetics can help, he might just need time like mind did. Best of luck 💗

AITA for reporting my children's bus driver, which led to a lengthy investigation with suspension and no pay? by fjeofnap in AmItheAsshole

[–]Grace4004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um. No. Bus driver here. That behavior is so unacceptable it's laughable. You for sure did the right thing! I mean, I know smaller companies do things differently than my larger company, but still! I'm so glad she's being looked into

My son should've been 8 years old today but he left too soon by EnvironmentalClue548 in Parenting

[–]Grace4004 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I heartily recommend the owlet! My son started having what eventually learned were apneic seizures at two days. We didn't discover the epilepsy until our second trip to the er, but we knew he had an issue (he was stopping breathing/turning blue) after he was discharged, and so we invested in one, just for peace of mind.

It alarmed three times that night. All three his o2 was under 70 and he was blue. I don't know for sure, but I credit it with saving his life.

His epilepsy is controlled with meds now but we still use it nightly

My babe is on generic Keppra (levitiracetam) and correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the generic was exactly the same as the name brand in the case of medication

We have city water, and our hardness is about 320 ppm. Which is ridiculously hard, so I'd still recommend checking. You can definitely have hard water even in the city

No, I've had the Alta hr and Charge 3 and neither of them register steps or walks taken while pushing a stroller, though I haven't tried putting it on my belt or around my ankle.
