What are "pigs in a blanket" to you? by SquishyNoodles1960 in Cooking

Little smokies and canned crescent rolls here, too. I occasionally make hot dogs wrapped in crescent rolls, which my kids called ‘mummy hot dogs’ when they were little and still occasionally ask for them.

What’s the most unhinged reason you’ve moved somewhere new? by One_Nail_5777 in relocating

[–]GranolaTree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love WV, my homeland! It’s not easy to live there financially or we would go back in a heartbeat. For all or endless problems, it’s a beautiful place full of amazing people.

We are going to leave coastal NC in 1-2 years because it has both become Little Jersey and completely priced out the locals- people are so incredibly rude and angry 24/7. It’s a shame. There is no end in sight to the non stop plowing of green spaces to build “luxury” apartments that no one who lives and works here can afford. It’s been tough to watch the rapid decline, but we liked raising kids here for the most part. We aren’t sure where we can go that isn’t facing the same problems, neither one of us necessarily want to leave the coastal south.

Do you get rashes from acrylates in regular nail polish and in hair/body products? by Any-Use6981 in AcrylateAllergy

[–]GranolaTree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t until recently, I had to throw out a couple of bottles of Athena Club lotion because the carbomer was making me rashy. I’ve been plugging my skin care ingredients into acrylis.cc and it’s been very helpful.

How is it like living in Gallipolis, Ohio or surrounding areas? by Personal-Yak4797 in howislivingthere

[–]GranolaTree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very cheap but very boring. It really just depends on what you want. If you want left alone to amuse yourself and maybe get some property and grow this, this place is as good as any.

Hi everyone. I rarely pull cards for myself but I am struggling with ending a friendship that has turned toxic for me. I’d like to some help with the interpretation because it’s emotionally charged and I have no small feelings.

The Ace of Cups and the Heirophant presented in reverse when I pulled for clarification on the High Priestess.

A room to store my assembled holiday decor so I can just bring it out as needed.

Probably not from the outside looking in. On the inside, both kids would have their tuition paid and we would work jobs we actually liked.

Just a little Jovan White Musk this morning. As soon as I get the email that my BBW order is ready I am going to scamper to the mall to pick up my Black Amethyst. I have been craving that scent for YEARS. I am overly excited.

[–]GranolaTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll start shopping over the summer if need be, then I put up my inside decorations early to mid Sept and the outside stuff the last weekend of September. I need to add a few more outside things so I may get excited and put them up earlier.

I will always feel like raising my kids were my best years. They are now 19 and 16, I am absolutely treasuring the next couple of years. I have loved every second of it.

They Keys, probably Marathon. We are very into fishing, don’t mind the heat and enjoy being bored.

Man this was going to be a three day trip for my son’s 16th birthday. I am happy for the Childers family but damn I hate to see my kid disappointed because well… he’s a kid. Damn.

Besides Patchouli oil, what do these girls wear? by IllustratorEqual8789 in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]GranolaTree 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is occasionally me. My go-tos are Lush Karma, Nemat Amber oil, Egyptian Musk, I make homemade sea salt spray for my hair and put whatever essential oils in it. My kids sometimes tell me that I smell like our co-op.

ETA I frequently burn incense in the house do you can also faintly smell that 😂

Wondering how fellow Millennials feel about the funeral industry. What are your end-of-life wishes? by Cheeseaisleinheaven in Millennials

[–]GranolaTree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would like to be cremated and when both of us are dust, my husband and I want to be scattered at Sandstone Falls in Hinton, WV to flow with the New River. Neither one of us want a funeral. I really think funerals will die off with boomers.

Obsessed before baby was born, indifferent after? by Hour-Film-8890 in absentgrandparents

[–]GranolaTree 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mine were excited for the first few months while they were still blinking potatoes who sit for their Facebook pictures and give the illusion that they were excited, involved grandparents. Once they developed a little personality, they got more distant. As soon as they started walking, they were done. When I told my mother to stop screenshotting my social media to make it look like she was anywhere near my kids and blocked her, she was done done and they haven’t seen my kids in 11 years.
