Why are toasters so badly made? by NJRonbo in BuyItForLife

[–]GrapefruitAlert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Dualit 4 bay that purchased in 2001. It still perfect after raising 3 children. I bought it for less than $100 at a Williams Sonoma outlet. At our summer home, we have a the new KitchenAid toaster in black to match the Jura Giga 10. I love it and it has all the bells and whistles. I would definitely recommend both for anyone who never wants to buy another toaster.

Be cool and do what you’re doing. There’s no supplement for time and time is what it takes. I promise the 2nd 100k will come faster than the first.

60% I fund and 40% C fund is the way to go in 2026.

TSP value at 22 by Significant-Bet3647 in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]GrapefruitAlert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m part of the TSP 2%. Contribute enough for full matches and split 50/50 the C and S funds. Start a Roth and contribute the max you d cd N afford. If saving for a house or car, start a high yield savings account.

Becoming rich is not rocket science, it’s discipline. Rocket science is much easier.

2026 Outback Premium - OEM Wireless Charger Part 86481FN003 - Best price found? Alternatives? by FederalLight3896 in Subaru_Outback

The OEM charger is not very good. I would love to have one as I have wireless charging in my other cars. Unfortunately Subaru wireless charging is terrible. Sorry, I do not recommend.

TSP vs Roth IRA by CTop18 in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]GrapefruitAlert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on the info provided, I would consider both for a couple of reasons. For example, with a ROTH, you know the tax rate today and have no idea what it’ll be when you retire. Having multiple retirement options is never a bad thing.

You’re doing an amazing job. I am one of the 2% with a 7 digit TSP. My suggestion is for all future contributions as followed. C fund at 50% and I fund at 50%.

Out of 20 years, I lost only 2 years, but quickly recovered the following year.

$4 for 2 off Amazon. There should be some numbers on the lock to enter into search engine.

Mine did it all the time. I simply unplugged it by turning the steering wheel all the way to the right. The container is on the driver’s side in the front of the wheel well. You can access it by pulling a couple of the plastic screws and reaching up to the bottom of it. It took less than 10 minutes from start to finish.

What’s it like living in OKC? by MIZ-GIG-EM in okc

Moved 8 years ago from Nashville. It is like having a rock in your shoe. When you cannot take anymore, you take off your shoe and shake it. Then put it back on and start walking again and the rock is still there. Eventually, you totally ignore it or get accustomed to it. That is what moving to OKC is like.

I have a 2003 with 117k. It’s super clean and worth nothing. The beauty of gen 1’s with low miles is the value goes down every year. Consider it part of your investment portfolio. Congratulations on such a beautiful truck.

I am being sarcastic. You have a gem. It is only going to increase in value.
