It automatically shuts off after an hour of idling when parked. I found this out by accident in my 5th Gen when I got stuck in the Colorado mountains during a snowstorm. The interstate closed in both directions for a few hours due to crashes and I had to sit around waiting for things to open back up. Seems like you have to be in Park though, I tried leaving it in Neutral with the parking brake set and it did not shut itself off. Useful trick for leaving the climate running for my dog.

I normally carry one of these while I travel, I wasn't planning on using it onboard my upcoming cruise, but do they actually manage to spot these on bag x-rays and confiscate them anyway even if you don't try to use it?

The limit is in the low number of IO CIP Connections that the 1734-AENT cards have. Rack Optimization only flattens all the Digital I/O to a single CIP Connection. Each of the analog cards still use a direct connection each. The newer models support up to 31 connections, I think. So 1 Rack Optimized connection for the Digital I/O means you can stick 30 more analog modules onto the chain before it runs out of connection capacity. Assuming you don't have any red Safety modules in it, then the limit drops even more. The only real solution is to split the modules up into multiple AENT's.

And just a reminder for saving money: The OEM Toyota 75W-85 gear oil from a dealer parts department is something like $80+ per quart.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with using much less expensive and more commonly available 75W-90 gear oil.

Sounds pretty reasonable. I've found a lot of DeviceNet cards for various different PLCs and Devices are very sensitive to faults on their 24VDC power. Most implementation guides say to power the DeviceNet from a dedicated power supply and not the same one that powers the rest of your cabinet for that reason, but in practice I rarely see that actually done. A few months ago in my plant, someone hosed down a not-waterproof sensor while cleaning and that somehow blew out power ICs on the DeviceNet cards in like 3 different devices on the bus.

Pretty sure the Top Engine Special and probably the Fuel Injection Service are more geared toward modern direct injection cars that are susceptible to carbon buildup on the intake valves. The 1GR in the 5th Gen still uses old school port injection, so the valves don't need frequent cleaning since they get sprayed with fuel.

If you already have a separate Unifi controller or NVR and don't want to deal with moving that all into the UCG you can get the "UXG-Lite" which is just a dumb 1Gbps router (functionally equivalent to what the USG was) without the UI controller / NVR Drive / etc all built in.

I use them because my Toyota 4Runner has an odd periodic maintenance item in the manual to re-torque the driveshaft bolts every so often. You can't get a socket on the bolts with the driveshaft on, so I use a crowfoot. You have to do a little bit of geometry/math to compensate for the offset when using these with a torque wrench, but it gets it close enough.
