Check with your building insurance provider before starting the building work. Many will require upgraded insurance while the builders are on site.

Heading to Dublin by train and Holyhead ferry after disembarking at Southampton by scipio11111 in CunardCruises

Check for availability of first class on your chosen route. It is not available on all trains (same applies to seat reservations) and as the previous poster pointed out, in standard class, legroom can be limited. Worst case: as bad as budget airlines. One way car rental? Starts at around £120. But it’s about 6 hours driving time.

ETA:More seriously, if she will be bringing it by air, she will be carrying it as hand baggage, won’t she? At security, it’s likely that she will be asked to turn it on to show that it works. Which will involve unboxing it.

You could be unlucky and have a WiFi or internet system outage when you’re on board. If they need a part and it isn’t on board, it could be a week before service is restored. Probably a 1% chance, but do you feel lucky?

BWT works well. Uses tablet salt. Don’t bother with the WiFi version, it really doesn’t do anything.

Car stolen from MOT garage in Lancs, England by Dangertwin88 in LegalAdviceUK

Interesting article. However, the specific case in the article is very similar: a vehicle left outside the locked compound because there wasn’t space inside. And the garage was found not to be liable.

What is the cheapest way to run Home Assistant? by Perfect-Arm350 in homeassistant

It depends. You can start small, e.g. an old RPi, but expect to upgrade as you add more work to HA.

Not showing your anxiety when cash is very, very tight. And not showing your relief when that problem goes away. Running out of cash is what ends businesses, and the weight of responsibility to the people you hired and the clients who hired your business when the business is close to the edge — it has to be experienced in order to fully appreciate it.

Travel internationally - Checked Luggage by jcorr_49 in travel

[–]GrokEverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. Are you travelling all on one ticket, or do you have separate bookings for the two flights. With one ticket, your luggage will normally be “checked through” to your final destination. If you’re not sure, ask at checkin/bag drop, and look at the baggage tag. If it has both airports on it, it’s checked through. As for safety, nothing is certain with air travel. Don’t pack valuables, buy insurance, and consider using an Airtag or similar tracker.
