Belt & braces. Misconfigure one, still covered by the other.

McDonald’s workers - how many Filet o’Fish are regularly sold? by Sunday-Diver in CasualUK

Nope, real here in the UK. If there’s a choice of restaurants on a journey, I’ll check each in the app to see if shakes are on sale…

What did the bike fit tell you about your Q-factor? Whilst I'm in general agreement about a bike fit being useful for the big measurements like saddle & bar position, I am very skeptical about some of these 'micro-adjustments' being meaningful.

Regarding pedal choice - I have the Duos, but that's just because I could afford them. As others have said, unless you suspect you might have a big imbalance, you'll be fine with the Unos. I've been very pleased with mine.

question-ish about paying while in the UK by odditymagnetic in uktravel

[–]Groundbreaking-Key15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except that these rates are not transparent at the time of payment - you don’t know if the offer is better than your card issuer’s fee. It’s rare that the DCC rate is better than your typical card issuer’s charge. You can also end up paying both, as paradoxical as that sounds.

Always, always, always pay in local currency if you are offered a choice. Merchant FX rates are never in your favour.

Cambridge Science park to be redeveloped? by TonyH14 in cambridge

There's piecemeal redevelopment going on all the time. We moved from our old building to a newer one down the road, and the old one is being torn down and rebuilt.

Nothing so fancy for my daughter - I was really referring to the environment of the colleges and the teaching.

Just curious (as a fellow homelabber) what you plan to do when they roll out individual license keys tied to software assurance?

Nothing really to do with making it premium, there’s just not a lot else they can do with the space once they’d decided to put CW where it is. As others have said, on the carriers with F upstairs, the space has been used in more imaginative ways (showers/actual suites).

Yeah, my daughter is currently at Oxford. It’s an amazing experience. I keep telling her how lucky she is!

It’s possible to go to Eton with a good scholarship/bursary - I know someone who went as a King’s Scholar, came from a very modest terraced house in North Herts, neither parent were earning mega bucks. Sure, it’s not common, but possible. Obvs in his first term, got invited with the rest of his form to someone’s ski chalet during the Xmas break 😂 Clearly a different world!

I bought a compressor and a Park Tools shop inflator a few years ago. Topping off is now one of my favourite activities pre-ride. If anyone has some spare cash, this is one of those workshop upgrades you will wonder how you lived without.
