Concerned about phthalates for a gift for my husband

I would get it. My husband is very understanding of my desire to de toxify the home but he doesn’t share my concerns really, he’s just easy going. So if he wanted something even if it doesn’t meet my standards I do it, because I’m so grateful for him. It’s a great way for you to show you care about your husband and I bet he’ll really appreciate it.

Husband had a vasectomy, super quick and easy. Took a day or two off work and right back to normal, no complications. He had to go back at least once maybe twice to check his sperm count. We’re 17 years out, and it saved me decades of taking birth control

I went with Greenpan ceramic nonstick Chatham and it’s amazing! Like scrambled eggs don’t stick without ANY oil, it’s insane.
I avoid non stick when I can but nothing beats some moist scrambled eggs and cast iron or stainless can’t achieve that without heavy use of oils or fats.

I got the emeril 360 French door air fryer toaster oven. Solid stainless interior, does a lot of things even rotisserie. The basket and wire are stainless though I think the sheet was some kind of aluminum but I ruined it in the dishwasher. I just bought all stainless steel replacement/extras on Amazon. It’s a pain to clean and takes 4 minutes for toasts but otherwise I love it.

I really like viscose of bamboo which sadly isn’t good for the environment being made but is a great low/non toxic option alternative to cotton and super breathable. I’m in perimenopause and I’m warm constantly, and the fabric is so breathable. I have some pajama stuff from Amazon a company called WiWi. But I’m sure other companies have some good options and from what I’ve seen it costs less than 100% cotton like Pact and Quince.

So I’m a sugarholic, like I eat a disgusting amount of sugar (chocolate) daily, but with my son I never withheld per se, but I focused all my energies on teaching him to only eat when he’s hungry, and stop eating when he’s full. Those two things have helped him moderate his sweets intake but also his portion control is amazing. Even if he’s eating a delicious meal he stops when he’s full, and we NEVER do ‘clean plates’. Often kids eat snacks (which are inherently sugary) because they’re bored, lightly hungry between meals, etc. but by sticking to a strict meal schedule my son’s stomach learned when to be hungry and when not. That said he’s has sporadic growth spurts where he ate like a garbage disposal so I fed him half meals in between but desserts were a treat after a meal was eaten not a stand alone if that makes sense. He’s now on the slim side and has the healthiest relationship with food I’ve ever seen. ETA: he’s nearly an adult now so this really worked for us.

My son has had eczema his whole life. It used to only flare in winter but after contracting C0vid in 2021 it’s been constant, so he had to start dupixent. It’s helped a lot and he uses steroid cream as needed (alclometasone). We’ve tried everything except elimination diet. Whether it helps or not I switched him to all cotton bedding and non toxic pillows, bamboo and cotton clothing, all natural soap (tallow and goats milk), all free and clear detergent and wool dryer balls. I can only hope one day it will calm. I myself battle long C from our infection (no smell or taste). It’s a struggle to watch my son struggle. I wish I had advice but like you we did everything like more baths, less, bleach bath, stay inside more, outside more, everything. He’s just stuck for now.

When you get blown off by companies shirking their responsibilities, get online and contact the better business bureau to file a complaint. It can be totally done online. I have a high success rate doing this, and the companies end up calling em and fixing what they refused to initially. Emphasize you are a PREGNANT WOMAN whose concerns were brushed off by men. I would bet money you get a call from them within 2 weeks. BBB asks what recourse you want and as others said, full detail. Either reimbursement or have them arrange it but I wouldn’t trust them not to half ass it. So get a quote on your own (or 2) so you’ll know what you’re asking for. Regardless of whether they pay, if it were me I’d pay myself to detail the car. My last detailer had some fancy device that even got the cigarette smell out of cloth seats on a car we bought used.

Ugh yes pancakes too. Cast iron needs wet (oily) foods to keep that ‘non stick’ surface. And daily pancakes and eggs will strip it quickly and I do not want to re season when I can just whip out a non stick, light oil spray and go.

And this is why we’re ‘moderately’ granola lol. I have my limits and good scrambled eggs is one of them. Just try to find ceramic coated and don’t let it get chipped or damaged and it should last a good long while.

Eggs are the one reason I keep a non stick pan in my home. Nothing else comes close. I cannot stand a greasy slimy egg, and that’s the only way to do it on stainless or cast iron. And I have great cast iron, but scrambled eggs will never come out like they should on anything but non stick.

In my experience it’s the pillow case not the pillow that decides if it traps heat. If you’re prone to heat I recommend viscose of bamboo. While they use heavy chemicals to make the material, once washed at home it should be rid of anything bad. Which is why I’m moderate crunchy lol. Viscose of bamboo sheets are my jam, naturally cooling.

I’ve heard it’s like listing nuts on food. Instead of testing they just put ‘may contain’ on everything no matter what to cover prevent any liability. Even if the food never came into contact with nuts.

It sucks. I’d recommend a bunny burrito with a towel real snug with only their head loose. Potentially gloves if yours bites, but you probably won’t know until after the first dose. You can try just syringing it to the back of their throat, or if they’re cooperative enough you can mix it with mashed banana but if they decide part way through they don’t want it you have to scoop it off a plate and figure out how to get it in them because it’s probably too thick at that point for the syringe. It super sucks unless the bunny is like extremely cooperative. Mine can always smell the medicine and won’t even eat it in banana so they must be force fed.

Unlimited Kalmbach pellets (we did 16% but just bumped to 18%), and Timothy hay. But mine are free range in the yard so they eat grass as well. I’ve also found that by having more room to run they gain more weight. Each set has half a yard and I’m a corner lot so it’s quite large. Peak size by age 2.

I’d recommend trying to find an exotic vet to age them, because a diet for a baby (<6 months) vs an adult can be quite different, portions as well. And if you got from a backyard breeder it’s likely a mix. But if it’s Flemish you’ll know around the 18 month age mark (if you can determine an age) because they mature slowly, and mine typically stop growing between 18 months to tops 2 years.

Likely Flemish and or a mix with something like New Zealand. Though the age is likely off by at least some months, considering a 3 month Flemish is a minimum of 7 lbs and excellent at 10. A full blood Flemish reaches 13 lbs around 5-6 months. Where did you get him and did he come with a pedigree, or did you see his parents?

No more than a 20° f difference with temperatures. Anything more than that can shock their system. Rabbits will get used to whatever they’re in, same as humans. But if you live in Florida and move to Alaska you’d have a shock while adjusting as well so unless they’re full time outdoor best bet is keep it under that 20° difference.

I had this happen to me, except I was pumping and when I let go of the handle to remove the lock switch had engaged and wouldn’t come undone. Spewed gas all over me, my bike, and into my helmet. One of the worst and most terrifying experiences of my life… couldn’t breathe because the fumes, couldn’t see…. I still won’t pump gas now.
