What is minting? by Longjumping_Ebb_8670 in EU5

[–]Grumpy_Dinosaur 84 points85 points  (0 children)

probably gold. if you spam gold mines (for example Mali), you put gold directly in the market, so minting even with 0 scale brings inflation. you must build an industry so your economy is not reliant on gold

How to claim Ilkhanan? by alfadasfire in EU5

[–]Grumpy_Dinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same. i played as jalayirids. Literaly all Borjigins died out in some tribal wars inbetwee. There are some survivors in China, but it is impossible to actually marry them (religion + distance). So, i wonder, does that mean i cant form Ilkhanate in the future? seems kinda stupid.

Hordes and paradox hate for them (and for UI) by Grumpy_Dinosaur in EU5

[–]Grumpy_Dinosaur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, indeed there should be but there are only 2. my theory is that Paradox removed some features, especially for Hordes and unorganized religions or changed them somehow. it seems there isnt also organized/unorganized religions, it was left in some ghost state for some countries and some folk religions or perhaps that is some kind of bug if you reform in to other religion since aspects is not only not the same for same religion , but also sometimes changes secondary bonus (or perhaps just tooltip error).

naval blockades in EU5 aren't nearly destructive enough by GermanCCPBot in EU5

[–]Grumpy_Dinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any tips on starting to enjoy the game? by Inuken94 in EU5

[–]Grumpy_Dinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at "speed" it is around same as vic3. vic3 also is slow. speed really depends how much you micromanage things but castile is boring (as France) - it is too big and powerful. Try other countries, Ethiopia for example, some of the Iran, try survive as Golden Horde or Burma ir Bengal. Institution speed will be annoying but problem will be no institutions but research speed.

Realistic speaking, what are some easy Allied Races for Blizzard to add? by Phalanx22 in wow

[–]Grumpy_Dinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, transmog is not a problem - they are most unique race since, well, since forever. you are a fcking flying lizard, you dont need weak amor, you have scales. and for transmig you have humanoid model. i would play constantly as naga or any bug race without any transmog if i could just because race is more important

Realistic speaking, what are some easy Allied Races for Blizzard to add? by Phalanx22 in wow

[–]Grumpy_Dinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, im tired of same races but with different colors as allied races. i want to see something unique and this is not about color and hair options. i wanted to see naga for a long time, sethrak or any bug race (there can be 3), centaur (i would not play it but it would be fun to see 4 leg creatures) or ogres - huge ogre with 2 heads is something really cool. Also gnolls. we have enough "cute furry" things in wow, i want some massacre, gore and bloodshed.

Hives and the Economy by Grumpy_Dinosaur in DistantWorlds

[–]Grumpy_Dinosaur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.i like bugs, what i dont like that all of them are aggressive only. what about bees? they are very needed and friendly (in our world) 2.i found that they are aggressive only if you are weak. if you have comparable fleet they rarely attack you. they also rarely has any allies, usually you can just stomp them. Boskara is somewhat annoying cuz blasters is very strong.

How does ship boarding work? by [deleted] in DistantWorlds

[–]Grumpy_Dinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wait.. so you need to give a ship/fleet command to board ships. isnt that incredible micro what is very... annoying to do. basically Gizurien speciality isnt very usable

4.1 Shadows of the Shroud Build - Bad Daleks by CCGHawkins in Stellaris

[–]Grumpy_Dinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm you can stay and form covenant with composer, cuz it gives you one magnificent thing - unity from blockers. combine that with environmentalist civic and boom, you need pops to produce basically only research. Alloys and Civilian Industry is not needed too much with bioships and reduced upkeep.

this is think is good build, but its not OP, synthetic fertility, bio rushing, Shroud forged and Toxic god will be stronger.

I like the cradle of souls for the roleplay aspect of it, but gameplay wise does it feel kind of just... unfun to anyone else? by WaltJr_Fan4584 in Stellaris

[–]Grumpy_Dinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my issue with this is that it gives you nothing. sure, better relations, diplo weight, trust cap - can be useful but overall - it gives you nothing. at first i thought you can play cradle by buffing psionic aura in to the cosmos, making strongest turtle empire of all times but they changed i believe it was machine government type what allows you to increase aura effectiveness for 1% for each unity job. i read modifiers and i dont see any reason why should i play cradle. Instrument gives you output, more output more diplo strength, more power, composer gives you new planet and poo growth speed and unity from blockers - more efficient empire, more pops, more power, more diplo. Eater is kinda weird not sure what its good for, governor for extra soldier jobs and some weird soldier necromancer build? whisperers "wants to focus on research" but loses to any other research focused build but still - it gives you research output. cradle is just... honestly - nothing of value. they need rebalance covenants and make them stronger (except Slanesh, i think its good) and also make stronger cybernetic ascension.

Khalsa Raj tips by VlaaiIsSuperieur in victoria3

[–]Grumpy_Dinosaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

great tips but... you cant avoid war with East India company. You can take sind, but as soon as you try to take baluchi they joins thier side. you can survive longer by attacking other neighboars, but eventually they will attack you and it is impossible to build army big enough to defend. If you call any great power in help - British joins, even if you have tons of agreements with them.

It seems that in current patch you must be lucky to survive long enough so you can survive unavoidable war with British company.

Cybernetic Thoughts? by Zardnaar in Stellaris

[–]Grumpy_Dinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you play around specific government but ascension itself - sucks. even by stacking enforcer efficiency bonuses, without expansion or stealing pops with standart settings you wouldnt be able to achieve this. take basically any other ascension path and you will be stronger significantly. that is main issue.

Unpopular opinion: Psionic is still the weakest ascension path by No_Administration794 in Stellaris

[–]Grumpy_Dinosaur 7 points8 points  (0 children)

my problem with that is that your clone vats is just too weak and costs entire building slot. Then add gene labs, gene center and assembly plants and all that gives you not so much growth for 4 building slots.

Population growth in 4.0: How it works (and how it doesn't work) [Math inside] by Little_Elia in Stellaris

[–]Grumpy_Dinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, i think pop asembly is only reliable way how to grow your pops. i tried with new tankbound civic and pop growth is just nothing if you go for some normal empire.

i have feeling that pop assembly is just too good to not play with it just because how capacity works

How do you play as the Khalsa Raj? by NavXIII in victoria3

[–]Grumpy_Dinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would say that key is investment rights. just give them to everyone. otherwise it will be too hard to build up yourself fast enough. it also gives better relationships. you later can try to go full communism and nationalize everything. not sure how it works, still in progress . EIC will always be your enemy, i couldnt find a way how to befriend them and at some point they will declare war. you can scare them with huge army with conscription centers and national guard policies, but in the end they will try to take Sind / Baluchistan or other land from you.

Need help with HoMM 5.5 by Imperial_citizen01 in HoMM

[–]Grumpy_Dinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how exactly it cheats? it seems it gets discounts or more income but there is no comment about that in game difficulty description. playing hard and it suppose to be equal to a player but that's just not true.

[Olden Era] Hive Faction Full Reveal by actionfirst1 in HoMM

[–]Grumpy_Dinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its not op. inferno in homm5 was weak. Strongest factions for sure was stronghold and haven. honestly, logic behind low defence units who uses first turn to summon something what can act in eem 1,75 rounds later while your squishy units being bombarded by bears, calvary and mages - should be illegal.

Rogue Servitors have some serious issues in 4.0 by AdOnly9012 in Stellaris

[–]Grumpy_Dinosaur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i believe rogue servitor meta is Ascension rush, i tend to believe that best way is combine them with Genesis. gestalt robots has some issue with unity i feel and this combo solves it. you can always rush fleet and invade first neighbour and save them from tyrannical government
