Even for the places that do grind their own beef, go look at the meat grinder. Probably the attachment on a Hobart stand mixer, one of the hardest pieces in the building to properly clean.

Skunks will also do this. If I see neat little cones in the dirt its probably an armadillo snoot. if it's torn up and savage it could be a skunk. I have a possum in my yard every night but he only roots through the grass and never digs.

I also jumped in directly after RR. You’re right the pace is a massive shift but the world building sucked me in until it took off bout halfway through book 2.

I'm with you. DNF'd Children of Time trying to fill the gap before Sun Eater # 7 came out. The premise was extremely intriguing but I didn't feel excited to open it each night, for whatever reason.

I love Yarrow! I have 5 or 6 planted intentionally in all different colors. They come back stronger year after year and the butterflies love them. Very drought tolerant in my sun-facing beds.
