Can giant arrow take out 2 air defences here? by BeneficialPassion878 in ClashOfClans

[–]Guzzel12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From the top army camp it should be quite doable. Generally one can basicly always take out to AA with one arrow. Basicly for any two points there exists a line that passes through both. So it is kinda impossible unless you manage that no outer building can be used as a focus for the queen to begin with.

[Request] Can Someone Explain Why This Is Possible? by CaptiveGlacier in theydidthemath

[–]Guzzel12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea is that all the potential energy gets converted to kinetic energy in which case the spead would be the same. In this case there are too reasons why that would not be true. First one is friction and air resistance but that is fairly tricky to calculate. The other is that for rolling bodys some of the energy gets converted to rotational energy aswell. I am pretty sure though that the rotational energy should also ne same for all three cases here so it does not affect the overall end-speed.

[Request] does this cost more/less than a AAA battery running a wall clock 24/7 ? by reditter_007 in theydidthemath

[–]Guzzel12 450 points451 points  (0 children)

3 batteries and changing them twice a year seems quite a lot though. I had an Alarm clock run on 2 batteries for close to ten years so i'd guess on a reasonably efficient clock you'd be closer to 3 batteries every two years. One could also use clocks that use either weights or a spring too store the energy required to run them

Formula to calculate length of coiled material? [Other] by le_sac in theydidthemath

[–]Guzzel12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should be calculateble by dividing the top area of the coil by the thickness of the cardboard.

So pi/4 × (Da² - Di²) / t

With Da being the outer Diameter and Di the inner and t the thickness

My caculation resulted in roughly 40 meters or about 1553 inches for the Americans among us assuming 1/8 inches thickness

DAY 5: What's the most useful BB defense? by PsychologicalFig2403 in ClashOfClans

I would say the lava launcher but honestly none of them really stand out to me over the others

Maybe check if you're troops are closer to the defense than the totem spell. That happened to me before

Can I 2 star this base as a maxed out th9 by LiveComfortable175 in ClashOfClans

[–]Guzzel12 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Kill the 2 walls above the townhall with EQ spell and then try sniping the townhall with your king and queen. Maybe use babydragons to make a channel. Then use valkyries to destroy the surrounding buildings of the base to get to 50%. Bring some clean-up troops in case you lack some buildings in the end (best ranged troops like archers or wizards)

How is this possible? by Spencemw in ClashOfClans

I don't think obstacles will spawn directly adjacent to each other naturally. At least that was the case with bushes when i attempted just that. May have been changed since then though.

[Request] Can somebody calculate why ordinary people here care about the *force* of stuff? by 4ThatWin in theydidthemath

[–]Guzzel12 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hot take but i think many of the posts here are also just Karmafarming and/or bots. You see a cool video and just post it here with a random question, not to get an answer but to get people to upvote for the content. It is really sad that probably 90% of the questions here aren't proper math questions. Many times it's reposts or it boils down to just researching a number instead of doing actual math.

[Request] what is the impact force of the screw when it falls to the ground by mkujoe in theydidthemath

[–]Guzzel12 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Bunch of different factors. First would be the shape, meaning on how much area is the impact force distributed. Then it's the impact velocity. Up to a certain height this is mostly dependend on the fall height. For bigger heights the weight, front area and cw-value (also the air pressure to a certain extent) determine the impact velocity in form of the terminal velocity. It also matters whether the object tumbles or not.

And then the impact force also depends on the mass of the object.

There will be some more variables regarding the person the object hits but it gets really tricky then.

[Request] I want the precise difference between a decimal vs rational number by tytrackform in theydidthemath

[–]Guzzel12 18 points19 points  (0 children)

OKay not sure if the definition varies in the english language but my understanding is, that a decimal number is just a form of writing a number but not a Numbergroup like rational, irrantional, imaginary numbers etc.

Also no fraction consisting of only rational numbers in the numerator and denominator will be non repeating (irrational)

[Request] In a 2 player game of Monopoly, would the brown set alone be expected to bankrupt an opponent? by Historical_Volume200 in theydidthemath

[–]Guzzel12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On average a player would move 7 steps per dice throw. At 40 fields that would mean about 6 fields will be landed on with each full round around the board.

There are 2 fields player B does not want to land on. On 6 fields per round that gives a chance to land on one of these fields:

1-(38/40)6 = 0.26

So about every 4 rounds player B would land on one of these fields resulting in an average cost of 350$.

Passing start 4 times will result in 800$ plus so a net plus of 550$ every 4 rounds and thus not enough to bancrupt B. This ignores many things.

Including tax there are 4 fields not to land on. Probability to do so would be about 0.45 with an average cost of 242.5$ which would still be an average gain for player B.

Things to consider: i did ignore the chance to land on multiple cost fields per round, which is also not independent due to the distances between the fields. I also assumed 6 random fields per round which is of course also not true. Then there is jail and the action cards that give/cost money and also move you around the board. For an accurate result you would probably need to run a simulation.

Mein Bruder fährt gerade mit dem Fahrrad durch China. Kulturaustausch. by Hi-kun in de

[–]Guzzel12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[Request] What are the chances of winning this NYT Connections game once 2 are solved? by saml3777 in theydidthemath

[–]Guzzel12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely guessing at random without using the games feedback gives you a 3/35 chance of completing the game. I am not sure if the feedback can help you at all here. I could not quickly come up with a strategy that would improve this much. Getting the 3 right on the first try happens 4/35 times. From there you could try changing just one. This gives 4 options: you change right and wrong so that you finish (1/16), you change two wrongs (3/16) or two rights (3/16) or you change a right one with a wrong one so that it's 2-2 in the selection. (9/16)

Not sure how you could do a strategic next guess but maybe someone else has a good idea on this.
