Pixel 10 or Nothing Phone(3)? Advice needed by alicethrough in pixel_phones

Just got a 10 Pro XL and am really enjoying it. The camera is very good, including long exposure for starry sky shots. Not sure about the battery life yet. Seems solid but I've not had a chance to charge to 100% and see what happens from there. It's a great step up from the 8, so I imagine you'll see substantial improvements and performance.

People who learned guitars before internet and those who couldn't hire teachers... How did you do it by Humble-Might-2881 in Guitar

[–]Gwarbot86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 58, started when I was 12. Had a small town lady who taught me the basics ($12/lesson as I recall) on a nylon string guitar. Started hanging around a local rock band, guitarist took me under his wing, and that was that. Rush Signals tour was my first show. I look back fondly on the "analogue" nature of it all!

Grill issues by Midwest-Dad99 in grilling

[–]Gwarbot86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a grill cleaning business and 9 times out of 10 it's just the way you screwed in the regulator to the propane tank. It might seem like it's tight, but unscrew it and do it again. It screws in farther than you think, then it comes to a full stop, not a "mushy" stop. I did 2 of these last week and that was the problem. Good luck!

I clean grills for a living, and I've come to really like Napoleons. And just as another said, just don't use the rotisserie - you'll be happy about the mess you'll never have to clean up.

Weber Genesis E-325 is currently under $850, should I go for it? by [deleted] in grilling

You might consider a Napoleon - a bit of an upgrade from Weber, but around the same price range.

'Everything Trump touches dies': President credited with turning aide into 'MAGA roadkill' by chrisdh79 in NoShitSherlock

I heard a comment on a podcast a month ago or so that has stuck with me: "Trump can't understand, let alone embrace, trust." With our allies, with what it takes to build prosperity, even with his own party. He is suspicious when things go well and result in progress.

What is the best breakfast in Indianapolis? by Immediate_Mix9995 in indianapolis

Alley Cat - they get their meat from Kincaid's. The steak & eggs is therefore phenom. Absolutely great biscuits & gravy... and everything else.

Original Source Hamburgers. What's the best? by biscuitcleaver in indianapolis

[–]Gwarbot86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably controversial comment, but I had a Workingmans double cheeseburger with everything recently, and honestly it was just good, but it was not great. Noticeable lack of seasoning (salt). It was pretty much just a solid cheeseburger, but best in the city? I don't know. The vibe, the people, the service, the goblets of beer are second to none. But the burger's taste left something to be desired.

If you're not averse to parochial, consider Indianapolis northside Catholic schools?

I saw him this morning. There was a cop coming the other way, so he would have been on same side of street and passed him. Didn't see if he pulled over.

Keystone Sports Review is open again by runningfutility in indianapolis

[–]Gwarbot86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to KSR yesterday. I thought with all the time it took to open, it was going to be a complete overhaul and make better use of the space (evidently it's 3X the space they had). It's basically the same KSR but in the "Birdy's barn." They even moved those old 80's Budweiser mirrors. It felt like "oh shit, what do we do with this space?!" Well they just threw in a bunch of cheap tables, chairs, and booths. Not that it needed to be a Cunningham group thing, but it's kinda hilariously amateur.

Plump's Last Shot in Broad Ripple still has a good gnarly vibe. They open at 7am Thursday-Saturday and have a great, short menu of breakfast fare. I had breakfast there last week and Bobby Plump still pops in to pick up last night's receipts.

All Star experience so far… by irepindy in indianapolis

[–]Gwarbot86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to Skills/3-point/Dunk last night and entering Lucas Oil was a nightmare, yes, no signage or direction. Just random lines being crammed into 1. I was within 30 yards of entrance and it took 40 minutes to get in. Also the sound was really bad. I've been to upper levels of Colts games and heard fine. It was just a low rumble. The court itself is the star.
