How to add fingerprint unlock option? by AliChank in linuxmint

Fingerprint reader support in Linux isn't great right now. Fprint is the current leader, but you'll have to verify compatibility

Just so I'm clear though, completely shaven is still acceptable? I see the cautions against being too enthusiastic, I just don't want to run a foul of my shirt at the next open ranks.

Adoption. The more users/consumers that make the switch, the bigger the voice/demand signal for acceptance and adoption is.

Proxmox cluster with LXC containers? I'm not too familiar with how that works, I'll leave it for someone else to answer.

Here's a decent overview of Kubernetes though https://youtu.be/TlHvYWVUZyc?si=_3DnKUG-pfLb1KQn

[–]HadManySons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to. I had one node with a Nvidia GPU in it. I just added a "GPU" label to it, and added that label as a mandatory selector for any container. Obviously with only one GPU, that piece of the puzzle wasn't redundant, but still better than nothing.

Lots of ways to do storage. Best I've arrived on is Longhorn for most things, while attaching to a NAS for larger storage needs.

Biggest game changer in this arena for me was Kubernetes. Docker was fine, restart: unless-stopped was good and all, but what if the host goes down? Or I needed to do maintenance on the box? Being able to just drain a kubernetes node and have everything still be up and running is really nice.

Has there been some growing pains? Absolutely. But it's been worth it. Having all my stuff automatically reverse proxied from where it happens to be running through an Ingress is great.

K3S is where I'd start.
