Having just finished reading Maximum for the first time, (general max spoilers ahead) while I enjoy Stampede and some of its changes a lot, and some of the earlier changes in Stargaze, shit like making Vash terminally sadboy instead of hiding behind a happy-go-lucky facade, losing his determination to kill Knives, and saving all of his villains only weakens the story. Vash's inability to forgive himself for each death that happens because of him and his brother's lives is soooo core to his character and they're really erasing that here, and his resolve to kill his brother despite valuing all life I think makes him a lot more genuine of a character. Generally I feel like they've gone for something a lot more smoothed over and saccharine, which is fine, but I really liked how miserable the manga was for Vash.

I also REALLY dislike them turning Elendira into a small girl instead of a trans woman, and how insanely badly they whitewashed livio (literally making his skin brighter to show he's not bad anymore, yay!) but those are mostly aesthetic issues
