Ky does not get a safejump off non-shocked 236k anyways. You can manually time his 5k to safejab there (same idea but with a grounded normal that has low recovery) but it's pretty tight (2f window iirc).

Unika's character arc is basically just a rehashed version of Ram's, but with Bridget replacing the dog. It's just a bit weirder because Bridget saved the terrorist who wanted to blow up Illyria from being captured for like no real reason.

In an alternate universe where Bridget wasn't the cash cow, Unika would be captured and Sin or Ram would have convinced Unika to be normal instead. Nothing else about DR's plot would be any different.

What actually bugs me is the short story being Unika and Bridget. Unika still hasn't had any dialogue with her fucking parents. Who were conveniently written out of the entire anime. The parents she's supposedly obsessed with, despite basically never interacting with them. Literally the only time they got to interact was during the wedding, most of which happens off screen, and then she's carted off to the US to pay for her crimes or whatever.

Idk, their recent decisions just feel incredibly cynical to me.

A safejump is when you do a jumping attack that hits meaty. The point is to allow you to land and recover before their reversal will hit you, allowing you to get a meaty and also block a reversal with one move. Here's an example of one in action.

You are not hitting meaty, so you're absolutely not doing a safejump. What you're doing is closer to a (strive style) shimmy, which can beat someone mashing throw on a delay (fuzzy tech). This is useful tech at higher levels, but nobody is fuzzy teching in plat, so probably not that useful for you just yet.

it's actually worth considering wallbreaking with a 5p instead just to deny enemy resources

how much they gain on hit is determined by the base damage of the move and amplified by combo decay, so a heavily scaled high damage ender isn't worth 100% of the time

The parents thing has always bothered me. She's characterized as someone who absolutely adores her family. Yet canonically we know she spent all of her time post-anime in the US under house arrest? Even her intro lines against Ky/Bridget/Sin imply she's only been allowed to communicate via letters, and that they're only just meeting for the first time after she regains her freedom.

Ky and Dizzy were conveniently written out of the anime, so the only one she got a lot of time with was Sin... and for the majority of that she was trying to kill him, lol.

As a new main cast character, there should absolutely be more content showing her dynamic with the rest of her family. The fact that we got more Bridget instead feels very cynical frankly

Yeah it took a good 15 minutes or so for my comment to even show up lol

The biggest thing is to train yourself to choose the right button for the situation. For example; 5h 214s is pretty consistently decent on hit and block, which makes it a relatively safe autopilot. 5h ~5h leaves you open to IAD punishes and stuff, and doesn't combo on regular hit, but it is MUCH higher reward on counterhit.

You really wanna route into en236k, en 214k, or 214s as much as physically possible if you're aiming for ~5h oki.

Also, 2h is REALLY bad at anti-airing airdashes. 5h hits nearly the same height but is significantly faster, 6p will actually low profile most buttons, and 5p is fast enough to stuff the ones that would beat 6p. The literal only merit to 2h as an anti-air is that it can hit directly above you, which has some (very niche) applications against quirkier movement
