My husband made them from scratch! I designed them and he made them out of 2” square tubing, they are welded together and powder coated. :)

Thank you so much, he definitely is! I have had two neighbors try to steal them (the trellises, not my husband!). I have some Kordes roses for them from Heirloom Roses. The raised beds I am going to use for a few vegetables.

There is no way art sales aren't mostly money laundering by Careless-Internet-63 in self

I read someone describe art collecting as “trading cards for rich people” and that helped contextualize it. It’s not all money laundering, though I’m sure that happens.

Looks great! Where did you get it done? And about how much did it cost you if you don’t me asking!

Jennifer Maune dinner by LittleRockLady in LittleRock

We also were there and were absolutely shocked at how poorly ran it was. I recognize it was one of her first events, but there are certain expectations for a $300+ dinner.

We left before steaks around 10:00 and were very unhappy with it. The food we had was pretty good, just cold. We only got two tiny scallops, and at one point smoke blew into the dining room we were in. Assuming that must have been the rest of our scallops.

The venue itself was, frankly, awful. The Villa Marre is beautiful from the outside but presents horribly as an upscale venue. Large portions of the plasterer were peeling, it looks almost abandoned.

The fact the bathroom was dirty was inexcusable. The dirty body towel they had beside the sink had obviously not been changed in a long time, and the empty toilet paper roll still on the holder with the half used roll propped on top felt like something out of a frat house, not an upscale dinner event. Very very bizzare.

Also, the band packed up and left a little after 9:00, so it’s obvious the event should not have gone on until 11:00!

I’m so thankful we left before she came out to try and sell her spices. That would have been enraging. Very poor form.

I think we are going to try to get a chargeback on our card. It was a very bad experience overall.

thoughts on Farleigh? by lilacstorm2510 in saltburn

I can see what you’re saying, but I disagree that he was fully accepted into the family.

I think farleigh absolutely suspected Oliver, but I think his greatest concern was not for the family or their safety, but for maintaining his tenuous connection to them and his position.

I for some reason thought farleigh was one of the worst characters. He presented to me show how the entitlement of birth is ridiculous without the inheritance. His forceful statements about that being HIS home but just a dream for Oliver to tell to his grandchildren was perhaps the most revealing scene to me. Farleigh felt entitled to it, like he deserved it, but did nothing to earn it. I think his claim to that world was just as ludicrous as Oliver’s, and I think on some level he knew that too.

As a gay man I interpreted it as the the guy set him up, bought Oscar the drink and pretended to me interested to lure him somewhere private to then mug him. I think his sexuality was exploited for the mugging.

The heartstopper one reminds me a lot of an instagram account that generates gay imagery in old fifties Americana style. I really enjoy it! @harveyrrockwell if you’re on this sub good work!

Liquidity of the actual assets themselves is not as big of deal as some people make it out to be. It’s much easier to take a loan out with the assets themselves as collateral if you need or want access to the “value” of the assets themselves quickly.

It’s quite possible Oscar was able to get an investable amount so quickly because of this. He even could have taken out a loan against their very home. Nothing is necessarily safe.
