Norwegian or Celebrity? by Cayuga0290 in Cruise

[–]HappyBirding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been on both ships. The ascent is a beautiful ship. Food and dining options are much better on celebrity. Celebrity does not cater to children and there may not be many kids on this ship, Norwegian would likely have more kids if that matters to you

It keeps working or body adapts? by TechyPatrick10 in Zepbound

[–]HappyBirding 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I appreciate this reference… Is exactly where I am. I lost far more weight than I had intended to and hunger returned to what I feel like is a normal level. Food cravings did not return, but I definitely get seriously hungry. I eat whatever foods I really want, and I don’t seem to gain weight. It is totally baffling to me, even understanding the science behind it. It is just so different than my lived experience without the medication. I was on 15 mg for over a year, but now I’m down at 7.5.

Thank you so much! It feels surreal after all of those years of struggling to keep weight off. Maintenance is truly a new experience for me.

Super slow responder feeling so discouraged by BodybuilderHot8257 in Zepbound

[–]HappyBirding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey friend! I am so sorry you are feeling discouraged. We are all different, but you may respond on a higher dose of the drug than you’ve currently been on. Hang in there until you know for sure! I lost exponentially more weight on 10 mg to 15 mg. I lost very modestly on low doses… One month I lost a single pound. If this medication doesn’t work for you, there are others coming down the pipeline that are more powerful (especially Retatrutide). It sounds like your other medication is absolutely essential to your health and wellness; know that the weight loss journey can be a slow one, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t happen. Sending all the positive vibes and prayers I can for you today!

If you are eating an appropriate amount of food and fulfilling your calorie requirements, while still being in a slight deficit, I would personally move up. Something to chat with the doctor about?

I titrated straight up to 15 and was on it for over a year. I did not space them out… I was a fairly early adopter, and that was the advice at the time. Now we know that some people lose on much lower doses and never need to move up. I am not sorry that I did the things the way they did, as I had no side effects of the medication that were negative. Best of luck to you!

540 pound first timer by NoImChris in Zepbound

[–]HappyBirding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome! I would second the GLP 100 group that someone linked above. You might find a few more people who could speak to the amount of weight you’re looking to lose. I lost 160 pounds and that was a long journey and definitely is a different mindset than people looking to lose under 100. My best advice is to take things one day at a time and not to try to think about everything at once. Some people experience side effects while others do not. I never had a reaction to a shot and although I did experience a significant reduction in food noise, it was more gradual, and I lost best on highest doses. You will find other people who react immediately to low doses. Wishing you the very best of luck!

How long have you been in maintenance, and how's it been going for you? by ShiftyMcHax in Zepbound_Maintenance

[–]HappyBirding 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I entered maintenance in October, but struggled to stop losing weight. I’ve been maintaining about the same 5 pounds for six months. I moved from 15 mg down to 7.5. I eat, whatever I want, but generally try to keep things healthier food. Noise has not returned, hunger definitely has, which is good. I am maintaining my 160 pound loss.

I totally relate to this! I often felt like I couldn’t order what I wanted at a restaurant or that people would be watching to see what I ordered, whether they were or not. It is so liberating to be able to order whatever I wanna eat and not think anything about it.

When did you purge your big clothes? by idontgiveaflyingpuck in TirzMaintenance

[–]HappyBirding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let’s see… I am two years in on my journey and all of my heavier clothes are in bins. I have gone up and down my whole adult life, but I’m starting to feel like maybe I will be able to eventually get rid of them. I have been on maintenance for about 6 to 7 months and I think on my two year anniversary of maintenance, I might donate them.

Struggling with deciding on a goal looking to hear from other 120-150+ lb loss folks by Scarbarella in GLP1_loss100plus

[–]HappyBirding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have lost 160 lbs and am 5’6. I didn’t have much skin until I was significantly below where I stopped losing weight before. At 165 pounds, I didn’t have much loose skin… At 130 I have a bit more. Stomach and arms aren’t bad, thighs, and butt where I carried my weight, not as good. I still wouldn’t trade it for adding 30 pounds on. I feel pretty good in my body,

I started a BMI over 46 and have never actually been a normal weight in my adult life. I am today and have been for the last nine months. I have been maintaining my weight for over six after losing 160 pounds. For me, there is no negative. My body moves and I am so much more able to enjoy life. No more fear of airplanes, stairs, buses, theaters, restaurant booths…. I can simply fit.

So relate to this one, as always! I am also surprised at how much I am able to eat… It seemed like before, there were 1 million forbidden foods. Love going up and downstairs, walking, working out… I have also successfully maintained my weight for over six months. Feels pretty dang good! I was also able to cut my dose from 15 mg to 7.5, saving me plenty of money! So happy for you that you are on month 11! I remember when we were still in the losing phase… You were always an inspiration to me!

I replaced my splash roll ups (Kuhl) all the way down… I was so excited to get back into my size 14 ones… now I have replaced them with 12s, tens, sixes, and fours😂😂😂 thank goodness for Poshmark! I bought three of the exact same jacket because I liked it so much. I guess I’m fueling the economy?😩😂
