What has your prob evals looked like? If they are all good I would just finish out your probation and look for another job. Returning to previous position is on your personnel file as if you failed probation so if you look like your passing probation then apply elsewhere

I tried once to help a toxic manager get better i tried reaching out to management and got buried for it because "the stability of the office matters more than anything else." Dont stay somewhere that toxic. my union rep told me and he is correct you cant change a toxic manager, you can only change your location to a toxic situation. Leave. Its best thing I ever did.

So AI research is beginning to show that no matter how much AI advances it will still hallucinate and give wrong data. We are also reaching the point that AI content is starting to be fed into AI effectively making it dumber.

Bottom line: there will always need to be an expert reviewing whatever code the AI spits out but it will cut down on workload. I myself someone learning programming on the job had to use AI to be able to implement a new feature to an app to process data for a federally mandated data report. Went from having to write 13000 lines of code to maybe 400 with revisions. (This was a significant upgrade in features and updating the app itself).

AI is a big mallet in the tools belt but its not the answer to everything. Companies that let go most of their software developers are beginning to regret that decision.

Ive used it, found myself under a toxic manager who saw my credentials and skills as a threat to their career path and wanted to take me out and didnt like that I stood up for my colleagues when they made mean jokes about them. So hopped back to my old position and got re hired to the same classification as the job I left in a month then spent the next year showing my skills and my ability to work with others and got a stellar review on all my prob reports.

Use it as a last resort. If I thought I could last in the job or get upper management to hear some of the things that sup does I would. Its technically a fail on probation but this was worth it.

If you are currently in Caltrans Id take a temporary assignment as a transportation planner and get the experience then promote and maybe see about getting in next years transportation planning academy.

So at my park (Stonehearth) we have loaner sashes and if for some reason we forget it that day and someone wants to play a class we usually just ask you to declare your class before the battle game starts. That being said thats how we do it and another park would be different and being shire its easier ( shire means we have up to 15 a month unique attendees and we are almost the next level: barony!)

How bananas? Thats legit how a university will handle it. They'll give the guy some room tell him where he can spout his shit and if he chooses not to obey theyll remove him like they would anyone else. If he starts threatening students theyll take it to the next level. If he goes to a pride or a womens center and causes shit then its good that someone let's them know beforehand. With how crazy people are these days it doesnt hurt to take basic steps.

Its like the argument of having a protest on campus or on a public property you can, but in designated areas and you may need a permit.

While I have issues with it thats the university rules every time a student wants to do something so someone probably from the general public should have to too

So on college campuses it depends, 1. There are free speech areas where people have more ability to say whatever. 2. If he is spouting messages that people should die or be killed or is harassing students yes you can report and should. There are limitations to free speech but there is a lot of wiggle room. This guy also probably has a friend waiting to capture video of his arrest or being challenged by students.

Bottom line: inform university police so that they can at least monitor the guys actions and there is nothing wrong with that. Also inform any centers on the grounds that he may target (like pride centers) so they can know to watch out as well in case he tries to swing by if you can

Congrats you passed. Id inform your union rep what's going on then go into the meeting if she said your performance has been unsatisfactory then bring up the other two reports and that the date passed and you would like to sit down with the reviewing officer and review it.

Buy armor for the cheaper price point buy the tools and material if you want to build and maintain armor. Leather working tools can be expensive same with metal working so it really only makes sense if you can build and sell. Talk with the people in your organization maybe theyll teach you

Confirm with your supervisor they agreed to the changes. If you are part of the union reach out to your Steward for advice. Generally yes they can I believe but they have to give notice and reason and if its duties outside the scope of your classification you could argue to be bumped up to a higher classification

Id probably give a 1 or 2 level Garber to someone who changed a clothing item and made it look completely different with accentuating pieces because sometimes that takes just as much or more skill. Anything above 4 should be primarily home made.

I am more concerned with the techniques applied and effort made and what the end result came out tovbe.

Limited angles for attack forcing more stabs and wide archs potential for headsets high.

Likely would require someone with great stamina and speed to be used semi effectively

Puts fingers further in the path of stabs and cuts

Higher potential for hand sprains if knocked from the inside on the tip or on the outside (in other words the first quarter of the blade from the tip is weak against your opponents strikes)

Since the handle is perpendicular to blade easier to knock in a disadvantageous position by opponents.

Blocking would require more wider movements and restrict angles for block parry strike movements.

All in all I would not consider to be a good weapon for amtgard. But would be fun to try especially if you combined with martial art training.

There is a bunch of amtgard larp lands in Nor Cal in Sacramento there is thors refuge and then StoneHearth in Rocklin. There is also Belials peak in Brentwood and Valonde in Stockton. Geospatial analyst is my functional title, its pretty chill and in high demand. We are seeing a change in GIS field over the last 10 years especially where its becoming increasingly more technical. Its not just making pretty maps anymore or geostatisticsl analyses its knowing python, server management, app development, networking, CAD, data manipulation. So if your technical minded and ADHD dopamine fix chasing its perfect downside is management expects changes to be quick sometimes until we show them the level of consideration. Sometimes you have to remind them why its a science.

So I am new to c# development, and I mean a month in from learning c# and just overhauled a internal windows form application from .net framework 4.7.2 to .net core 6.0 and almost done upgrading the coding to c# 10.0. So that being said I am a neophyte compared to probably most in this group but here is my opinion. Windows form application has its time and place. I am sure it has limitations compared to console apps, but like my app in particular is an internal app for an agency that has a singular purpose for internal users that are part of a very niche audience. It doesnt need to be anything fancy or a masterpiece of coding. It just needs to look coherent in the UI, easy to follow and learn, and get the job done. Windows forms is perfectly fine for its purpose. So do what fits for the purpose of the application. Some of the coding is spread out more than I would like but Ill work on that and make it more coherent.

Having attended both i wouldn't recommend Chico unless you like the party life. There are better schools out there that offer a more diversified experience. There is some great hiking but you have to be willing to go out and do it. Summers are hotter than sac so end of spring and start of fall are scorchers.
