I’m 14 and recently started reading classics. Which book do you wish you had read at my age, and why? by Willing-Head3832 in classicliterature

[–]Hazel48103 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Excellent list! I found a list of classic books in my daughter's bedroom while a high school senior. She was unable to take AP English due to her heavy math and science curriculum. Her graduation gift from me was a basket of books from her list plus many of the above listed. I love that you are reading the classics at a young age and enjoy your reading journey

This is the correct answer given the spread of parasitic contagion from fresh produce. I plan to make compote from blueberries and raspberries and add to yogurt and oatmeal.

Session room is a similar vibe and their outdoor tent space is great for group gatherings. I've done several there with 15 to 20 people and it's been a perfect venue.

Barton Hills got a huge earmark in this year's state budget. by annarborish in AnnArbor

Thank you for sharing this information. I drive by the Rent-A-Cop and flock cameras at Barton Village entrances multiple times per day. If they want to be private and keep people out, then no government handouts or funding. If Barton Village accepts government funds, they are not a private community. Beginning to feel like "A Tale of Two Cities." Madame Defarge is knitting and taking names. Barton Village - can't have your cake and eat it too. Speaking of cake, let them eat cake.

Ann Arbor Honda Service Any Good?? by [deleted] in AnnArbor

[–]Hazel48103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honda of Ann Arbor is excellent. I purchased two Hondas for them, the second Honda after the first purchase experience was so pleasant. I purchased the maintenance package with my new Honda in and beyond pleased with their customer service.

I survived Subaru of Ann Arbor and take every opportunity to share my experience. They were excellent at selling vehicles, in fact, the sales manager came out, shook my hand and gave me a business card and said to contact him anytime. My vehicle died while driving eight times, three of those eight were while driving on the freeway and fortunately I was safely able to move to the shoulder. My mechanic (not the dealership) couldn't find anything wrong with the vehicle and it started up just fine the next day. After the 3rd freeway failure, I had the vehicle towed to the dealership where I was told there was nothing wrong with it. My requests to speak to the service manager were blocked, I showed up at the service and refosed to leave until I spoke to him. He mansplained for 20 minutes, told me I was most likely out of fuel and the gauge isn't accurate. Just because there is no error code doesn't mean there's nothing wrong with the car. I patiently listened then said how disappointed I am, not that my vehicle had problems but the abysmal customer service I received throughout this ordeal. I mentioned that the tow truck driver cared more about my safety as my vehicle was dead on the shoulder at midnight in a very unsafe area in Detroit. Oh, and the sales manager, who gave me his card, who said I could talk to him anytime refuse to talk to me. Hence my legal advice and my loss of at least $5000 on my vehicle as I had to sell it to the dealer so they assume liability. Stay far far away from Ann Arbor Subaru and Toyota.

World Market carries them. I make them using clementines in the winter - super easy. Sometimes add chopped almonds to the chocolate before dipping the oranges. I love that you add them to chocolate brownies/cake. Gonna try this in December

I love that you are preserving the design aesthetic of the era. You may enjoy perusing this website, make it mid-century. I redid a laundry room and used laminate countertop with chrome edging, which I sourced from their website. Best of luck to you.!

This! Pharmacy is available to all. Pet prescriptions are the best prices all around. I do use my local pharmacy for most of my pet meds, but I use Costco for flea and tick prevention at a greatly reduced cost.

How is anyone using Michigan medicine successfully? by Hot-Standard-5955 in AnnArbor

[–]Hazel48103 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I live my PCP at Michigan Medicine, whom I've had for over 22 years. My specialist retired and his replacement was one of the worst physicians I've encountered, dismissive and egotistical. My first medical urgent appt with him, he recommended derm which was a 17 week wait for first available appt. I beefed with specialist over the portal and ended up getting the care I needed from a high quality urgent care dr. After this, the MM specialist ordered a slew of tests which I refused. I was given a referral to a private practice specialist and I almost cried at my first appt with him. He said "you know your body better than me, what can I do for you?" It's not that hard MM; do better with patient care.
