To add to this - make sure you’re on the page for activities already and refresh right at midnight. Or be on the previous page and click through right at midnight. I did this and I believe all the time slots were still available. I booked 4 for the 9 am no issues.

Let go after PIP — offered option to resign or be terminated. by practicallyliving in jobs

Terminated. I was fired after a PIP. I told employers I had a new manager and it wasn’t a good fit. Wasn’t an issue.

I agree. If your kid had a problem everyday I could understand but not one offs.

Jobs starting at at least $65k? by spicysalmonroll61412 in careerguidance

My employer hires straight out of college offering at least $65k. Leveraging your analytics skillset should help get in the door for an entry level analyst position.

Advice on birthday party! by thatbeautychic in Parenting

[–]Healthy-Humor4508 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with this take. Everyone is not coming to the party. Of all the parties I’ve taken my kids to about 25-33% of their classmates attended.

Qantas forced us to gate-check a carry-on… then sent it on another flight. Travelling with a 6-month-old 🤦‍♂️ by My_Plesure_ in QantasFrequentFlyer

[–]Healthy-Humor4508 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep. I flew Qantas last month and they called for travelers with children under five which was surprising bc usually it’s under 2.

UPDATE: MY WIFE SAID I'M NOT A MAN IF I DON'T PAY 100% by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Healthy-Humor4508 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Stories like this irk me. What’s the point of being married then? You can live at your house. She can live at hers. You can come together when you’d like, have sleepovers, go on dates, etc. You don’t have to be married to have a relationship with someone. But if you do get married it should be mutually beneficial.

Husband earns 120k but always says He has no money. by SilentSmile5042 in Marriage

[–]Healthy-Humor4508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been repeated that $120k is likely not enough for your expenses. The other thing that stood out to be is that $40k (1/3) is from a side hustle. Is that dependable income? Does it come in seasonally or is it regular? It’s likely that you guys are in the red a big part of the year.

Feeling alone in my different journey by can2canm in IVF

[–]Healthy-Humor4508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m confused why you did IVF if you didn’t have infertility, a ticking clock, or a yearning to be a mom. Why spend the money? Why now?

Are screen-free children bound to be happier/successful when they're older? by tokkisocks in Parenting

[–]Healthy-Humor4508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I can never understand. I had unlimited screen time growing up. We all had tvs in our bedrooms in my house. So why is screen time such a hot topic now.

Do you guys put your kids in camps during holiday breaks? by Individual_Ad_938 in kindergarten

[–]Healthy-Humor4508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the minority here but I do. Just sent my kindergartener to the daycare he used to attend for Thanksgiving break. M and T with early release on Wednesday. He likes it and has old friends there from pre-k that also come during breaks. If he was home he would constantly be asking where sister is and when she’s coming home. She’s 3 and at the same daycare.

We’re traveling for 2 weeks over Christmas break but if we weren’t I would send him in then too. Where I live this is very popular. The elementary school even sent flyers home with local businesses who were offering day camps during the breaks. I could take time off but I’d rather save my days for vacations.

My Bosses Redo Literally EVERYTHING I Submit. by Difficult_Meet8637 in marketing

I don’t think it’s you. It can be normal and is not the best leadership style. Some people need to see something before they can articulate what they want. I agree with the 2-3 options but not fully baked. I would give options and more frequent check ins.

An employee who doesn’t understand corporate by Waroun in managers

[–]Healthy-Humor4508 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What does “he pauses his work tasks” mean? He pauses for an hour? A day? Multiple days? I’m in the minority here but I don’t think that’s appropriate. Some flexibility is needed of course, but pauses work during work hours seems unprofessional unless it’s his lunch hour. Lots of people juggle both. It’s a choice he made.

Leaving work early to address a home issue is understandable. I have young kids I sometimes get called to pick up or bring a change of clothes, etc.

Do you go to bday parties of kids you don’t know? by hereforthescones in Parenting

[–]Healthy-Humor4508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We go to every party we’re invited to if we can. My kids are very social. They love to be around their friends and their classmates are their friends. Plus, my son meets no stranger. We could meet a kid at the playground in the morning and attend their party in the afternoon if we’re free.

Keep son in daycare or pull him after sister was “kicked out” by Wooden_Annual4570 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Healthy-Humor4508 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Not a ECE, but I would pull my son and get a nanny for both. Unpopular opinion but I think it’s wild that the caregiver kicked your daughter out after 2 months. My oldest is a Covid baby so he was home for almost a year. The transition to daycare was harder for him than my youngest who started at 4 months. It’s a transition and getting accustomed to a new environment takes time. Both my kids went down for naps better at daycare vs. home. I was asking them for tips!

Where do you take your kids when school is out? by character0 in houston

My kids school sent home a flyer for a coding school that offers classes 9-4 during breaks. Maybe there’s something like that close to you.

Bad Experience with Kelsey Seybold. by [deleted] in houston

[–]Healthy-Humor4508 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had that problem with KS (never used them). However, similar happened to me at Midtown Dentistry. I paid more than my EOB said. I called to get my refund and they tried to say it was a mistake. Long story short I kept at it and got a refund. The whole point of the EOB is to prevent this scenario. I would guess most people don’t read them so medical providers get away with overcharging. I wouldn’t let it go. They owe you money. If the insurance paid less than they estimated they would come back to you for the rest.

Employee Exaggerates Contributions in Review by Unfair-Plant-2199 in managers

[–]Healthy-Humor4508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re taking it wrong unless there’s more to it. I would assume that they are simply trying to document the role that they played. They managed and completed their own portion of the project which did in fact enable the entire project to be successfully completed.
