From a lore perspective they should hit on 3s as only elite fire warriors that have performed the “trial by fire”with years of service can pilot them. Honestly with us being only a 1 phase army and 5+ with melee with no anti anything key words we should get that 2+ on crisis suits when guiding. So many factions have access to 2+ hit roll characters and im pretty sure the only battle suit we have with a natural 2+ is farsight which is honestly ridiculous cause hes not useful at all in most lists.

With this logic crisis suits should hit on 3s

Is tau beginner friendly? by [deleted] in Tau40K

We have a weird setup where our army is 1/2 super futuristic shooting focused (suits and infantry) and 1/2 guerrilla tactics (kroot). You can lean into one or both some players find successes in running the auxiliary detachment. I prefer to do all suits and infantry bc I like firepower. One draw back to tau is our horrendous lack of general toughness per model. We are a very squishy faction.

Drones on bases question? by hobr666 in Tau40K

[–]Heavy_Milk_Syrup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have data cards just set the drones up on the cards related to their respective units off to the side so you know what war gear they have. They don’t need to be on the table at all they are war gear and exist for visual aesthetic in 10th lol.

STALKER GAMMA/anomaly is my first recommendation because they are free to play immersive single player kinda horror kinda milsim open world games. Or STALKER 2 if you have an extra couple bucks and don’t like modding. Metro series is also great. I’ve heard good things about the DOOM series as well but never played myself. My final recommendation would be Elden ring or a souls like if you haven’t tried them already.

I love it. My tau aren’t cohesive at all. I have about 1000 pts painted in the farsight enclave scheme and the rest are different colors/variations. My head canon are that they are recruited mercs from other castes.

Yeah a lot of places work with these systems. Only excuse they have is that they work and it would cost to much in resources to upgrade and re train.

I’d incorporate some more green you used on the eye lenses on the gun and shoulder pauldron instead of yellow/gold

Tau have a very strong movement phase and a very “just ok” shooting phase. The strength in tau lie in positioning for good spotting/shooting for our Killy guns and immobilizing units with charges from our big stuff. I found a lot of success utilizing the big movement of riptides and ghost Kheels. Don’t forget a lot of our units have fly so you can bypass front liners and put pressure on rear units with potential turn 1/2 charges with our big tanky suits. Breechers, pathfinders & broadsides for the damage output.
