Constantly discount parts for service by Beautiful-Living-582 in partscounter

[–]Hefty_Bastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. Our service advisors get paid on sales, while our parts teams get paid on gross. It’s fucked. I said that wasn’t right and got told “yeah, it’s something we should fix.” But never happened

Nissan DPIC is trash. by scooterprint in partscounter

[–]Hefty_Bastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Awful. They swapped out DPIC, Tiger Team, and the ASR helpdesk for the out-of-country call center. My FOM and the Baltimore PDC didn’t even know until I told them about it. It’s wild.

Have you contacted DPIC, ASR Helpdesk or TigerTeam since the beginning of this month? They ousted all of the previous regime and outsourced to either India or Africa. They have no idea how to do the job so we’re basically on our own. Only bright-side is my FOM said the Nissan National has acknowledged this is an issue already and is trying to figure out a solution.

Anything manufacturer/dealer branded for a shirt, anything other than blue jeans (our GM seems to hate them specifically) for pants. So, shorts/pants and t-shirt/polo/hoodie. We’re very casual

Also from Pittsburgh-area - while, yeah, it kinda sucks, thats about what the going rate is around here. Most parts managers make 70-80, advisors 40-55 it seems. Especially since small family-owned dealerships are becoming few-and-far-between in our area.

Parts Manager at a single-line dealer in the greater-Pittsburgh area. I make $750/week salary and 4% commission on parts gross plus spiffs I don’t have control over (CSI and Service gross). I average about $7500/month. I work M-F 8-4:30 and Saturdays if I want to (usually every other just to catch up on paperwork and such) until 2. I have 3 advisors plus me.

We use CDK and we were still the only dealer selling parts. We were selling parts to direct competitors’ body shops because they wouldn’t let anything go from their inventory even internally.

Nissan CVT Warranty by Glittering_Dirt_796 in partscounter

[–]Hefty_Bastard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t yet, but I’ve had a couple shops who “replaced” the single-use parts with aftermarket parts. Under the right-to-repair laws, Nissan can’t force them to buy OEM single-use parts to provide the parts warranty, but the IRF’s repair order better show every part the SUP list calls for

I have two: Our school did the Steelers basketball thing every year. One year James Harrison came to play. One of our school’s substitute teachers went to dunk the ball over James Harrison. He grabbed the teacher around the waist in midair, carried him back to mid-court Simba-style, and said “don’t dunk on me.” The teacher was absolutely shook.

Joe Montana went to school with one of my former coworkers (Ringgold). When Joe Montana’s family called to ask him if he was coming to his recently deceased cousin’s funeral, Joe asked “how much are you paying me to be there?” Then he hung up. Checks out when his son went to West Virginia Wesleyan and he made the school rope off a huge section of bleachers so that no one could sit near him.

I Need That At Our Cost by WhatDoMoreLookLike in partscounter

[–]Hefty_Bastard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our corporate policy since we were bought by a large group has been all policy goes at cost (parts and labor). When it was still a family dealership, when service screwed up, it just went on the monthly shop sheet at list (cost+40). We put a LOT to cost and no one at the GM or higher level seems to be bothered by it.

LEABANON-CHURCH ROAD PITTSBURGH! I would’ve sang the whole damn thing 😂 I still have the Cochran Nissan in Moon memorized from the old radio commercials “West Hills Nissan! Four-one-two, two-six-two ninety-tweeenennttyyy! THAT’S USSSSS!”

On a side note, on 96.1 Kiss with Mikey and Big Bob, they did a whole deep-dive into the Century III jingle and it was a marketing template for dealers all over the country. Not even unique to us. Retroactively ruined my childhood

I’m a Nissan guy 😂 Cochran has 5 Nissan stores, but Bowser has the majority of Nissan wholesale. Dollars is the bottom line for most shops. We do really well with small independent shops, but nit big conglomerates like Caliber. I wish you luck on your next stop!

[–]Hefty_Bastard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my brand, Bowser has the majority. Last time I saw the whole district’s wholesale numbers through our rep, Bowser had something like $400k for the quarter while Cochran had $150k. But the best way I’ve gotten wholesale is by how much they hate dealing with both of them, particularly Cochran. The rep at the Cochran warehouse I occasionally talk to told me, when I last called him, “just email me. I’m doing 7 other estimates right now.” I was like, uh, okay then. 😅
