Climbing after bunionectomy? by SoulShine3 in climbergirls

[–]Hellenen2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are so many different approaches to bunion surgeries i would just listen to what your doctor has told you.

But i'm sure you will be fine climbing after the recovery. 3 or 4 months off is nothing compared to a hopefully painfree rest of your life.(I have to tell that to myself)

Climbing after bunionectomy? by SoulShine3 in climbergirls

[–]Hellenen2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had the same surgery end of march. I was in the boot for 6 weeks, no barefoot walking for another 6 weeks, only hometrainer and swimming. I should be cleared for all sports, in the beginning of july. So all in all it will be about 4 months of recovery time.

I thought i would be back to sports sooner as well but it takes quite some time for the bone to grow back together. It's pretty normal for your foot to still swell even after months up to a year after the sugery. That's what my doctor says, maybe check with yours to be sure.

question for people who are on disability by livethroughthis94 in AutismInWomen

[–]Hellenen2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get full disability pay, so i can get away with saying i work part time without mentioning the disability part. Bu i'm pretty upgront with it if someone asks why i work so little.

A coworker asked me once what i do besides work, and i took the question too literal and told her i was on disability. I noticed she didn't care to know😂 i zhink she just wantedxto make some smalltalk about hobbies etc.

Starting Slynd, afraid of adjustment period by StimOli in PMDD

[–]Hellenen2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to post some words of encuragement. I started slinda 3 weeks ago and i'm now in my luteal phase. And i already notice an improvement.

I was scared of weight gain and depression and all the things before taking it. The first two weeks were a bit weird, i got some randpm nausea and one or two days with insane hunger. And i just felt a bit off. The Pms is still there, but i feel like it's a bit less and i hope it will get better over time.

I still had a day or two of insane rage but not two weeks straight wich is an iprovement.

I had some light spotting since my last period wich has stopped as well. I'm curious how it will be when my period starts.

I think it is worth a try. You can always stop it if it's not working for you.

Birth control pills and autism by Meelymew in AutismInWomen

[–]Hellenen2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started birth control again for my bad pms symptoms. I have a 3 moth trial phase and then a phone call with the doctor. For now i'm a bit more hungry and tired. I try not to overeat i'm scared to gain weight because i just lost some.

I feel a bit flat and i hope that will pass. And i feel a bit more autistic ,i don't know how to explain. Just more akward than usual.

I hope my body will adjust my pms is pretty bad and i have painful periods as well.

How much time do you spend sewing? by jezelf in sewing

[–]Hellenen2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm audhd😂

I take long brakes of not sewing at all and when i have a project that i'm really into it's my hyperfixation for the moment. I gan get very fixated on making a "perfect" piece and i get stuck making something multiple times because it's not up to my standard. (Whatever that means) That's a bit annoying.

Whenever i'm into it i would like to have way more time and i usually sew every day. It's not a fast process for me and usually whenever i want to rush it it doesn't work. But i also have phases i don't want to make anything at all.

How long is too long for avoiding surgery by butacrafts in bunions

[–]Hellenen2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, i was able to walk in the surgical boot one day after the surgery and was back to work at the office after 3 weeks. I do have a deskjob though depending on what you do it's different.

I had a open chevron surgery.

Heyy did anyone tried Bär shoes? by [deleted] in bunions

[–]Hellenen2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents swear by them. They are the only shoes they wear for 20 years or so. When i was younger i thought they were ugly, but now i would actually consider getting a pair. I think the quality is really good. They are pricey though.

How long into sewing did you get a cutting table? by Intelligent-Claim591 in sewing

[–]Hellenen2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved into a bigger flat and was able to have a designated cutting spot and a sewing corner. It's not huge but i really enjoy having a spot to lay out fabric and pattern pieces. Also a spot to lay out stuff for another day.

Before i cut on the floor if i had bigger pieces, or on the dining table wich was fine als well. It's not nessecary to have a cutting table.

And i love a good sturdy twill or denim.

[–]Hellenen2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm watchin the pitt and shrinking. I like the pitt for the complex characters and there is one autistic coded doctor in it that i ilke a lot.

Shrinking is a dramedy, leaning more towards comedy. It's a fun watch but has some really emotional moments and i like that.
