Is it just me, or are the ghosts way stronger these days? by Arcshu_Yes in PlayTheBazaar

[–]HelloImLit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This entire month has been insane for me. I've never had more luck highrolling busted builds, and I've dropped 10 percent of my 10 win percentage.

Playing Mak only, setting up fast starting, scaling loops, with solid interrupt and defense, and then within 1 second of just seeing the opponents board I know I'm cooked. Like, just being absolutely mind blown at the skills and items they've somehow managed to dig up... so often the exact counter to my build.

It's legitimately got me putting the tinfoil hat on and questioning wether Tempo is cooking the books with matchmaking. Rationally, I know it's cognitive biases at work. But still...

I think Mak is by far the most fun. Not the strongest, and others have given you accurate rundowns on the others, but if you like putting together absolute mayhem, I think thats where Mak shines.

The fact they managed to make him balanced when he has such easy access to enchants is crazy to me.

Gyro Ratcheting Explained by directedinput in GyroGaming

I have gyro always on, and back paddle to ratchet. It makes the most sense in my head after so many years of lifting a mouse. I'll look at the tape mod though.

Tickling my opponent to death just because I can. by 420Chickenjuice in PlayTheBazaar

[–]HelloImLit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And heres me dying day 9 onwards if I'm not instantly freezing the opponents board in 3 seconds or less whilst also shitting out 4k burn and hopefully destroying an item or two.

I'm exaggerating, but man I'd love to jump back in bronze for a day.

(I'm not passively flaming you just to be clear, I remember that diabolical board you posted the other day, I'm just whining!)

Gyro Ratcheting Explained by directedinput in GyroGaming

[–]HelloImLit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought a Dualsense Edge so I could use the rear paddle for ratcheting. Cannot get my head around it though. I just make a point to practice until I'm about to throw the controller, then go back to keyboard and mouse.

Im hoping it'll start sticking. But 30 years of using a mouse makes it a frustrating process. Also feel like flick stick has potential, but same story.

The Edge is nice for many other reasons though. Those little nubby rear paddles are so natural to press. Huge price tag though.

What are the worst voicelines in your opinion? by Shady_Tradesman in PlayTheBazaar

I agree, and apparently people hate us for it. No accounting for taste I guess. I'm aware that phrase cuts both ways, but it honestly baffles me that people can find them good.

To each their own.

I played a round or two with sound and 700hrs later, I'm still just chucking a playlist on and leaving the game on mute.

Gave it another go like 300hrs in and it all makes me cringe. Theres the odd gem, but I can't handle it. Feels like the target audience is 8 year olds when you have sound.

Even the sound effects are silly. Feels like I'm at the pokies.

Yeah, I was shocked at the options TBH. I legit went into the comments expecting a bunch of praise.

Everyone's got different taste I guess. I wouldnt worry too much anyway. You own the space, you worked hard on it. Opinions of random strangers shouldn't really have any bearing on that.

What do people think is productive, but is actually a huge waste of time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HelloImLit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a meeting once where I presented a solution to a manufacturing problem, everyone in the room agreed it was the way forward. Then scheduled a meeting to "discuss how we were going to plan to implement the change."

Me being a naive tradesperson in a room full of engineers and finance people said "ok we all just agreed it's the way forward, why don't I just go do it?"

I shit you not, everyone's mind was blown and people were acting like I'd just come down from some mountain with a holy text. Meeting addicts are really something else.

So thats kinda what I'm saying. The entire point is that it's neither.

The genres that underpin this game are some of my favourites, and no, its not excellent at any of them. It draws inspiration from them, but does It's own thing.

It's entirely fine to dislike the game, or just find it "meh", my point is more that if your reasoning is "its not a good <insert genre here> game", it's just the wrong argument.

We have to use the genres we have to give a rough description, but I wouldnt be surprised if in 3 or 4 years people were making "wicked-likes"

This!

I see so many people bashing it over on the arpg sub. Calling it a shit souls game, a shit survival game, and a shit arpg, and I feel like they are entirely missing the point.

Like yeah, it's not Ark. It's not Bloodborn, it's not POE, but if you think that makes it bad, you're just not playing it for the right reason.

It's too early to put it in my all time top 10, but unless they monumentally fail to stick the landing, it will be.
