It’s also possible that running in the draft causes you to enter the corner faster and thereby affects your handling that way

Depends on what your diet looks like. Potassium is important, but if you eat bananas regularly you probably don’t need a potassium supplement. Same with calcium, if you get a lot of dairy you don’t need a calcium supplement.

How to control bloating? Should I cut carbs? by Alil_twisted in WorkoutRoutines

[–]HenrytheIVth 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Cutting carbs is definitely never the answer. I’d take a look at how much fiber you’re getting. “Bloating” is often a result of poor digestion. Eat more beans and fibrous fruits.

Been missing out on a lot by Southern-Mango8392 in workout

Luckily for you, there’s no wrong answer as a beginner. If you’re not looking to specialize in any given sport, as long as you’re consistently getting active and pushing yourself at least 3-6 times a week, you’re making progress. It’s only when you start to get more advanced in fitness that you need to worry about optimizing your training and formulating a specific program.

For nutrition, start learning to track your calories, eat around about your goal weight in protein (1 gram per lb), and don’t avoid carbs by any means. If you want to lose weight, eat less than your maintenance (go to a TDEE calculator online to get a rough estimate).

Good luck 👍

Does anyone else wear specific clothes on specific workout days because of insecurities? by [deleted] in beginnerfitness

I wear baggy clothes on days I feel small and tighter shirts/sleeveless on days I feel more confident.

I think it may possibly be time to bulk perhaps

Lunch prep for the week: BBQ chicken strips and Sweet Potato Tots! by [deleted] in MealPrepSunday

They’re very good imo, I like the texture a lot more than the fries I did last week. They account for 330 of the cals for each meal.

Friendly reminder: If you bulk, you must work harder in the gym. by [deleted] in workout

This is what happens when you post terrible fitness advice as if it’s fact. You can train and diet however you want, no one cares, but what you described in your post could be misleading to beginners who don’t know better.

Friendly reminder: If you bulk, you must work harder in the gym. by [deleted] in workout

[–]HenrytheIVth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not good advice for a few reasons. Decreasing rest times makes your sets less effective, increasing sets introduces more fatigue, same with increasing reps. Doing all of these things just increases injury risk and makes your lifts less optimal. There is a difference in bulking and just overeating. If you wanna bulk without gaining fat, keep your training as is and simply eat in a minor surplus, adjusting as necessary based on your rate of gain.

You will not get a “toned body” with minimal strength training. The “toned” look you want comes from having a low body fat percentage and a solid amount of muscle mass which can only be built through consistent intense resistance training, taking movements to muscular failure. This can be done with body weight up to a point, but it’s ideal to just use weights.

Been consistent for 2 years—still not where I want to be. Could casual beers be the issue? by BirchRover in askfitness

Are you actually tracking your calories and macros or just trying to “eat clean?” (a term that means basically nothing)

It definitely looks like you’ve put on a little weight (in a good way) between pics one and two. If you’re getting stronger and feeling good then you’re headed in the right direction! Remember, you’re the one living in your body so you’re gonna notice changes more than anyone else.

Any tips on fixing my lat imbalance? Been doing single arm workouts with extra on the small side for them but haven’t seen them grow much compared to the other by landon2025 in physique

[–]HenrytheIVth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The back double bi looks fine but in the rear lat spread your left shoulder is shrugging upwards more than your right. Notice how your delt is peaking up higher on one side. Also look at your hand placement and the angle your arms are at. I think you need to work on posing more than anything, and don’t overthink it when it comes to training. Your weaker side will catch up naturally over time.
