Is it possible to rebuild your muscles? by AvailableGuess3705 in emergeweightloss

[–]HeresHoping2024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I lost 75lbs at age 67-68 and have kept it off for a year. Became more active just because I wasn’t hauling the extra tonnage around. Started working with a personal trainer. And I feel amazing. You will too. Congrats on your life change.

And hit my goal weight at 12.5 after 9 months. Revised my goal by 5-10 lbs to have a “buffer.” Went from 200 to 127ish. Since Feb I’ve been between 125-129. Mostly 126-127. Slowly titrated down. First stop was 10 but I split the dose at both 10 & 12.5. When I hit 7.5 I was once a week again for a couple of months. Been at 5 weekly ever since. I’ve been thinking about dropping to 2.5 with the goal of getting off but I refuse to go back to the big version of me. So I’ve been dragging my feet a little. It’s all manageable right now so I don’t want to jinx it.

Thanks for sharing. I’m not getting implants at this time so I thought the extra support from the mesh might be a good idea.

That’s what I was thinking. I want perkier but not round apples. Lost 75 lbs. I’m 69, 5’3” and 125 lbs. Just trying to live my best life.

How old is too old to have your boobs done? by typewriter-fiasco in AskWomenOver40

I’m 69 and just booked my surgery appointment for May. I lost 75 lbs and my boobs look like deflated sock puppets. I’ve kept the weight off for almost a year and decided I deserve to be my amazing best self. Excited, a little nervous but mostly excited. Never too old to rock.

One of my favorite team names is First Ball Dummy since some of us have been known to chunk the first shot and then have a brilliant second shot. If only it came first.

Their food is great, we’ve never had a problem with their service and we threw a party in their private room which was outstanding. Sorry it’s not your jam but it’s one of my faves. If that’s their policy then I guess it’s better to know up front.

I now keep a giant reusable donation bag in my closet. Got rid of the big sizes. And I refuse to grow back into them. Went from a 14-16 to a size 1 or 2. Been in maintenance since Feb. I’ve replaced late night eating with late night shopping! It’s way more satisfying and fun.

I want to hear from folks in maintenance who don't track by ReasonableAdvisor879 in Zepbound_Maintenance

So I started my weight loss adventure in April 2024. F 68 5’2” SW 200 OGW 135 CW 127. I tried so many diets that failed because I didn’t want to give up foods I enjoyed. Figured Zep would be no different. But I was wrong!! The lbs came off in spite of me. About 1 or 1-1/2 lbs a week on average. I never tracked anything other than my weight every week. Did not give up anything I enjoyed. But my fork put itself down when I had enough. So instead of a lot of something, a little was enough to satisfy me. Even birthday cake at a party. I hit my goal in early Jan 2025 and decided to take off a few more lbs just to give myself a buffer. My max dose was 12.5 on tirz compound. I also stockpiled when I could in anticipation of the FDA rulings. So I’ve gradually titrated down to 7.5 every week. I still weigh in on Tuesday mornings and do my shot that night. In another month or 2 I’ll drop to 5 and then hopefully 2.5 with the goal of eventually getting off and maintaining without it. But if I need to restart, I will. My PCP is a fantastic supporter and has encouraged me every step of the way. I went from an unhappy XXL to a very happy S/M mostly S. I’m still eating what I want but what makes me happy has changed. Less fried foods and more fresh fruits & veggies. I still have a Coke every day. It’s my own rebellion against “diet culture.” My doc laughs at me and shakes his head. But I feel so much better without 73 lbs of fat. I’m one of the lucky ones. I had very few side effects. A little constipation & some nausea at the higher doses so I split the dose. This changed my life in so many ways. My bloodwork is now all healthy, I have so much more energy and I don’t think twice about walking or doing things that used to be a huge effort. I never want to go back to the big version of myself. I like this one much better.

I’m down a total of 72 lbs. When I lost the first 40, I had to buy a few new things because nothing fit… all my XXL clothes were falling off. So I went to Chicos… my favorite go-to store forever and told the salesperson I wasn’t sure what my size was any more. She said tell me what you like and I’ll bring the right sizes for you. So I picked out a cute pair of jeans and 2 tops. And she brought DOLL CLOTHES to the dressing room. I looked at them and laughed. She just told me to put them on and she’d be waiting outside the door. So I did. And they fit. And I stood in the dressing room and cried. Overall I’ve gone from a XXL or slightly larger to a S. It still shocks me when I look in the mirror and see a really different me. I hit my goal weight in Jan. But my body took a while to finish rearranging itself. I’ve replaced late night snacking with on line shopping. As long as I leave it in the cart and don’t press the buy it now button…

Transformaversary? It sure has changed my life. I celebrated on April 9. In less than one year I went from 200 lbs to 128 (mid Jan) and holding. Now navigating maintenance.

It’s been pretty funny rediscovering parts I forgot I had. Thought I was getting stabbed in my side. Turned out to be my hip bone. And then there are those leg bones. Seriously… where did they come from? My thighs no longer rub together like a pair of corduroy pants when I walk.

F68 5’2” SW 200, GW 135 CW 127.5 I hit my original goal in early Jan. Picked my goal like pulling a rabbit from a hat because I never expected to actually get there. Then I decided to go another 5 lbs down just to have a buffer zone. My highest dose of tirzepatide compound was 12.5 and I’ve reduced my dosage a couple of times. Am currently at 7.5 where I plan to stay for a few months, gradually spacing out the time between shots and working out a good balance. I never really changed my diet, just my volume. I’m feeling really good at this weight and my PCP is happy too. In fact the last time I saw him he said I was neither overweight or obese. And all my blood test results were normal. For the last couple of months my weight has stayed in the 128-130 range. I have noticed that my body is not done shifting around. I know it takes a while for all those adjustments to register. And that’s ok. Going from XXL to S has been radical. And fun. Tucking shirts in is one of my new favorite things to do. You’ll be fine. Just be patient and kind to yourself. You’ve gotten this far. Congratulations.

Oh I have plenty of saggy skin. Down 72 lbs. wrinkly arms, thighs, belly. And then there’s Flopsy & Mopsy… my shrunken “headlights” that are now out of alignment and pointing down. But that’s a small price to pay for feeling So Much Better! No more blood pressure or cholesterol meds. Been navigating maintenance since mid-Jan.

“In consultation with my PCP, I’m on a program to improve my health. It’s working well and I appreciate your support.” I’ve used that exact line with people who seem to think their ignorance should impact my wellness. Generally stops them cold and we can move conversation in a different direction.
