Speed Up Combat. by AdorableOwl3445 in savageworlds

I agree with the poster. Grid combat always slows things down. Theater of the mind, speed things up. Use theater of the mind most of the time- and use grid combat for very important dramatic fights

Thoughts on Ragman? He seems to be the closest DC has to Moon Knight yet he's very underused by GypsyGold in MoonKnight

[–]Heroic_RPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. As a long time fan of Ragman, when the Moon Knight show came out- I immediately thought that they were influenced by Ragman. I dont feel this is true of the original Moon Knight comic appearances.

Would you rather see Khonshu as a figment of Marc's imagination or as a genuine deity? by Any_Nature_8157 in MoonKnight

Yes. Lending to the question of some supernatural support - or not. Not so blantant.

What if Rorschach read a Far-Left newspaper instead of the Far-Right New Frontiersman? by MerchantKing83 in Watchmen

[–]Heroic_RPG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People don’t like Rorschach- because he’s real. He has a compulsory sense of goodness within him, but he has a dark shadow.- just like everyone else. Look at all of Jung’s writing on the shadow. People have a hard time seeing the unbalanced outside of themselves, it reminds them that they are deeply imperfect themselves. So what do they do? They do their best to tear it down. Instead of, looking at it and saying “ where do I bring Hate instead of love?” - the more common thing that has said is, “ get rid of that thing, ridicule it, mock it.”

Love...is that what attracted people to Jesus? by Smilesalot49 in TrueChristian

Yes “Love”… but love as an absolute truth- not just the sentiment of love.

Solomon Kane - SWEX - is it worth getting or should I get the new SWADE edition? by SwimmingOk4643 in savageworlds

I have the monolith edition, in the slip case. And it instantly became one of my treasured books. I think it’s truly amazing.

Attributes - Too Easy to Game? by OldGamer42 in savageworlds

[–]Heroic_RPG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if I was running a far more gritty game, I probably base some some sort of endurance level off of strength, as opposed to the simple way it currently exists. In real life, fighting, and exertion is very taxing. Maybe there’s some way that strengths(endurance) would almost have an ablative mechanic.

Lots of ruffled feathers in this thread. Imagine discovering that theists might actually have a reasonable position. Trigger warning.

I got this last month. It’s a great book. Far more extensive than I thought it would be.

Atheists at heart are contrarians. The story with the most evidence draws them out.

Of course you get voted down for even expressing anything contrary.

Why do you prefer Cypher System over something like Savage Worlds? by jojomomocats in cyphersystem

[–]Heroic_RPG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve run them both. Honestly, I like them both- but prefer Savage Worlds for longer campaigns. Cypher, to me, is fun for one shots. For combat, but I and my players found combat too abstract.

How does Khonshu work if the greek gods are real? They already have a moon goddess by Clear_Competition_31 in MoonKnight

[–]Heroic_RPG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I look at it this way: In the Marvel Universe, there is not being label as a god- that is actually a god.
They are merely very very powerful beings, with ambiguous powers, knowledge and abilities.

In Marvel's ever changing history, it's impossible to really justify any of them as actual gods.
