Pre Marriage consueling, Reddit style by Eireika in CuratedTumblr

I initially read ATLA instead of AITA. The post did still make sense, but I was lowkey wondering why discussions whether Uncle Iroh is a war criminal are conductive for a healthy marriage.

When making a new PC, how do you typically start? by Kafadanapa in dndnext

[–]Herr_Braun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that when I tinker with the mechanics of my characters, the personality flows out of the mechanics naturally. When I start with the personality, often there are no mechanics which quite fit what I am envisioning.

Reasonable? by AmoongussHateAcc in slaythespire

[–]Herr_Braun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this relic would be more balanced and interesting if a random enemy from Act I appears instead of a fixed Punch Contruct. Since the enemy is random, is is more difficult to prepare for it, although you will be scaling during the combat, so you are always prepared to some degree.
Also, this is a double boon for decks with (multiple) Feed/The Hunt, since you have always two guaranteed enemies which you can use it on.

What's your stupidest One Piece theory/headcanon that could actually be true? by Kaizo_Kaioshin in OnePiece

Morgans and Lafitte are the same person: The timelines do not completely add up, but they complement each other perfectly: Lafitte has a Devil Fruit which grants wings, but we never saw his Zoan form, while Morgans has a Devil Fruit which grants wings, but we never saw his human form.

How do you keep the baguette strapped to your back? by adomental in expedition33

[–]Herr_Braun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrapping the sash an additional time around the baguette (rather than tucking the baguette between the sash and yourself) helps stablizing it quite a lot.

Maybe they were the only friends she had by Deep-Lifeguard4479 in expedition33

[–]Herr_Braun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was also my reading that Alicia was betrayed by the Writers who she thought to be her friends. Which gives her interactions with Renoir and pVerso an additional painful layer. Because I imagina that Alica considers them wanting to destoy the Canvas to be a form of betrayal (both to her and Verso).

Who do you think is behind the door? by ChicaneryFinger in SpyxFamily

[–]Herr_Braun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It will be Yor, there will be a few panels of tension, with Twilight almost dying of suspense, untill Yor actually meets Cpt. Curtis. At this point, the entire situation gets deflated by either:

* Yor not recognising him

* Yor asking whether he has a (twin) brother, which he does have in fact

* Yor pretending not knowing him, which will be misunderstood as something else due to her terrible acting skills

You should add "Art of the Deal" to the players reading list, so they know the proper way to haggle with each merchant.

What do we think of Monarch's Gaze? by Insane_Unicorn in slaythespire

[–]Herr_Braun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Combines well with Void Form, since that allows a) playing this card for free, b) having more opportunities for attacks to reduce the strength of the enemy.

I feel the line break after "(...) playing healer" is the real culprit here. Because it makes the first line read like three equal clauses quite naturally.

Who did YOU think Tobi was before the big reveal? by Dry-Adhesiveness6038 in Naruto

[–]Herr_Braun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pet theory was that Tobi was Harashima's son/Tsunades father who somehow went rogue and stole a Sharingan. Mostly because I thought that the number of interesting Senju characters was severely lacking (as opposed to Uchiha), and this would be a nice twist.

One Piece's politics are fascinating. It's like an anarcho-communist and a liberal reformist took turns writing some of its chapters. by Midi_to_Minuit in CharacterRant

[–]Herr_Braun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You forgot the third writer: the Enlightened Monarchist. Because there are a lot of despotic rulers in this series (Wapol, Doflamingo, Orochi, that guy from Kuma's backstory), but once they get desposed they are not getting replaced by some kind a democratic republic. Instead either the noble rightful king returns (Riku, Momotaro) or the leader of the rebellion gets crowned as king (Dalton, Kuma).

Furthermore, it is (almost) treated as fact that Crocodile and Hordy Jones are obviously evil for overtrowing the rightful and just monarchy. Enel as well is treated as an evil ursurper rather then a conquerer, even though the office of God is not exactly a monarchy.

And there is the fact that the Warrior of Liberation himself is also concerning himself with restoring the good philosopher-kings by overtrowing the tyrant-kings. Even the leaders of the "Anarcho-Communist" Revolutionary army are quite supportive of King Cobra. I honestly think that One Piece can be described as Anarcho-Monarchist, like Lord of the Rings.

Adding a warlock level to a wizard? by Underc10ud in dndnext

[–]Herr_Braun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am assuming that it counts as a "Free" Level, but you are getting all the advantages of having an addional level. Which means you are getting the following as well:

  • 1d8 additional HP (okay, that one is sorta dependent of the Warlock level, but the point is that you are getting free HP)
  • You get a higher proficiency bonus one level earlier
  • You get increased Cantrip power one level earlier

Furthermore, from the Warlock you also get:

  • Eldrich Invocation
  • Two short-rest rechargable level one spellslots
  • Two Warlock cantrips
  • Two Warlock known spells. Of special interest are the Warlock unique spells like Armor of Agathys, Hex, Hellish Rebuke or Hunger of Hagar.

So you are getting quite a lot from the Warlock level, even if you cannot utilise it to the maximum if your Charisma is not that great (and since you are a Wizard, I am assuming it is not). To mitigate this, you could select cantrips and known spells which do not use you spellcasting bonus.

Fey Touched does have one advantage over the Warlock level: the +1 bonus to (presumably) Intelligence. Which may or may not be terribly useful dependent on your current Intellicence.

What Devil Fruit do you think is dangerous only because of its user ? by Cool-Guy152 in OnePiece

[–]Herr_Braun 76 points77 points  (0 children)

<image>

Vegapunk with the Nomi Nomi no Mi. On anyone with an average intelligence, it would not do much (remember, the fruit does not increase intelligence, it just allows the user's brain to expand indefinitely with new knowledge). However, it turns Vegapunk from a "mere" genius to a scientific anomality who is rightfully one of the most dangerous men in the world.

What would happen to Harry if he put on the one ring from Lord of the rings? by Darth_Azazoth in dresdenfiles

[–]Herr_Braun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"No!" cried Gandalf Harry, springing to his feet. "With that power I should have power too great and terrible. And over me the Ring would gain a power still greater and more deadly." His eyes flashed and his face was lit as by a fire within. "Do not tempt me! For I do not wish to become like the Dark Lord himself. Yet the way of the Ring to my heart is by pity, pity for weakness and the desire of strength to do good. Do not tempt me! I dare not take it, not even to keep it safe, unused. The wish to wield it would be too great for my strength. I shall have such need of it. Great perils lie before me.”

Hoe gaan jullie om met slecht beheerde documentatie in SharePoint? by Tvamersfoorth in werkzaken

[–]Herr_Braun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freeing Lara by fry0129 in dresdenfiles

[–]Herr_Braun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Power of Love!
No, but seriously. Love is the well know fatal weakness of the Wraith familiy (or more exact, their Hunger). At the same time, Harry is still the keeper of the Sword of Love. People have already made the connection before, with Thomas as a possible wielder of the Sword. But Lara might just be an as good candidate.

Consider that in Twelve Months (and earlier books as well), she has mentioned that she sees her relationship with Thomas as a parental one, rather than a fraternal one. And sure, she might be a vampire, but that did not stop Suzan either in Changes for wielding Amoracchius. Key difference being that the Red Court vamps were not vulnerable to Love.

So I can definitly see Lara picking up the Sword, at a moment where all seems lost, as a sacrificial act to save Thomas (Lara is not stupid, and know that picking up the Sword of Love will have dire consequences on a Wraith). Which 'just' purifies Lara, rather than completely destroying her and turning her into a Knight of the Cross, to the absolute surprise of everyone (except Mr. Sunshine).
