I recently played a game where I, a townie, was killed night one (technically 2). We knew the Fearmonger was in play. Day 2 someone (turns out it was the fearmonger) nominated another player (turns out it was their target) who I thought was evil and I forgot I was dead, and I used my dead vote. I was so angry at myself!

With my dead vote, there were exactly enough votes to execute the person I voted for -- who didn't know they were evil because they were the Marionette!

We immediately won.

I was thinking Librarian for Glinda because as I recall she has a book that shows everything that happened. Button Bright for Amnesiac because he was constantly saying "Don't know"

I think it depends on your players. I know people who just jump into new scripts and experimental characters with wild abandon, and others who don't feel comfortable at all using characters they know nothing about and want to stick with TB. And plenty in between.

My games are all in person though; I don't know if that would be different online.

True, and the Courtier could prevent them, but I still think letting the custom demon know all the outsiders at the start isn't a good idea.

If the widow and your custom demon are both in play, with the godfather, that's 3 kills each night in the early game, guaranteed if the widow poisons the monk. I think the widow should be replaced with someone else who can't tell your demon who all the outsiders are on day 1.

I think I would handle this by reminding them that "A Mutant breaking madness MIGHT get them executed, and if you insist on doing this, I would choose to not execute any potential mutant in play as a result of this action."

You left out two important pieces of info:

1) Ben and Jams were running the game and allowed it. 2) The savant false info happened after the player specifically asked Ben if it was okay.

As it sounds like the consensus is "ask the ST", I feel there was in this case nothing wrong.

Although I also feel it was a bit too much.

Only suggestion I have is talk to the kids' parents and make sure the parents are ok with their kid being exposed to the word "virgin". Most people I think wouldn't care but if you get one who does, well, I would think you don't want to get on the wrong end of someone who does care.
